So boring and tedious.
The concept for this one was A M A Z I N G ❣️Or so I thought.I mean come on ,in a world 🌍 where you can play video games in a “Holo-room” and then someon can amp it to real it’s so REAL when it’s game over,it really is.That concept is as awesome as it is terrifying!If dine right this story should have it coy,e have been as interning or even more so than the “Icove case” with the clones. ( it’s was mentioned of course,Nadine has her book out) This could have or maybe should have ( or at least the potential to) put that one to shame.Someone being to create a game and the tech needed to do this could have been fascinating. There were soo many,many things that could have gone one here . It could have been an accident. Looks like murder but guy was just a victim of his own genius and others are randomly killed before they realize someone isn’t using the game to kill,it just is . Then maybe it’s a race to save someone important testing out the game as maybe a decoy to draw someone out . Can’t draw them out because once you reach a certain level ,there’s no escape . The game goes literally into a “kill mode”.It might be homicide but not murder . The games creator was just too good but still kinda too dumb to see what he’d created.Now, that., that might have been good .Instead what we get is the game seen only as a distraction or an excuse for murder,not a direct tool. And we follow Eve for over 80% of the book treating this just like any other murder ,looking for more logical weapons. Doing the same line of questioning ,going through suspects things etc.Never having a single clue really on motive or anything really as they stumble 80% + thru the book.This was so boring and tedious I kept putting it down and doing other things.And the worst part is there was NO need for this. Ms. Robb/Roberts has created a world 🌎 🌍 not only to very realistic holographic rooms and images exist,you can go to a “spa” for the day and change almost literally anything about yourself . From your eye color ,you the shake and tone of your body, to well , EVERYTHING!I’m sure in this world you could walk out of one of these Spas ,looking soo changed even your own Momma would be left guessing . Personally,I think just being able to have any eye color you want without contacts or something similar is amazing. I mean they have those flying cars, we were promised forever ago for F’s sake.I mean didn’t Eve start a case on her honeymoon, where one of Roarke’s very own employees/friends was happily using holographic tech to meme ppl not only happy but thrilled to go kill themselves ?I mean Hello!!!!!!I kept thinking Hello Eve! Weren’t we here in book 📖 📚 four!It was only book four when ppl were using something meant to relax do the opposite to ppl. Not the sane I know buuuutWhen you abs Roarke rushed off to the closet and you weren’t in control ,you NEVER expected someone to be able to control you with music either did you ?H E L L O ?!?!?This could have been greatBut it wasn’t.Boring and tedious and I so want to slap 👋 that shallow,sex hungry,selfish, self absorbed,spoiled greedy ,grasping, whining,pouting,shallow Peabody into next week!If the lil B isn’t whining about shoes when they’re supposed to looking for clues during a search and seizure, just to get a free ride to a party later ,coz asking like a mature adult wouldn’t be annoying enough. She’s making very inappropriate remarks about a supposed friends husband. It’s so WTF 🤬,the way she talks about Roarke in front of Eve . It’s just plain wrong and deeply disrespectful and we know she’d turn hypocrite the moment someone looked cross eyed at McNab.Why can’t we kick the B to the curb. Eve just looks weak for putting up w/her immature BS.Eve says she very proud of being bitchy,if that’s true why she’s she put up w/Peabody’s BS ?

A Series Review! {NO Spoilers}
4.5 stars!After basically years of seeing this series around and reading about this mystical Roarke, I gave in and decided to read the In Death Books. It was quite an undertaking, since when I started there were 33 books already released in the series, not counting short stories and novellas. Besides that, deciding to read this series was a big commitment in two fronts. One, I simply had to by 33 books and secondly, I would not be reading anything else until I was done. That's how psychotic I can be when it comes to book series.December 2011 was when my journey began and by February 2012 I was done and now there is NO turning back. I am IN LOVE with this series! I not only obviously love Roarke, but I love Eve and all the secondary characters that make up this great story as well.Yes, I have become irritated with Eve at times, but I adored being able to see her grow throughout the series. It has been quite a ride, but one I will never regret hopping aboard.This series is a great mix of mystery, police drama and romance. I love every aspect of it, from the near futuristic setting, to the way J.D. Robb writes her prose. If there is one thing that bothers me, is that considering the series has 35 books published, the span of time that has passed is very short and I wish the lapse between books was a bit longer. But if you read the books throughout a longer period of time, it won't really matter, but reading them so close together made me wish for that longer lapse.Eve is such a complex character. All that she has been through has made who she is, but her story is not less heartbreaking because of it. For that matter, so is Roarke's and the fact that these two found each other is nothing less than serendipity. They need each other and I am sure they would never have grown to be who they are in the series by book 35, if not for each other's presence in their lives. Not to mention the "family" they have built with their dear friends.One of the biggest issues brought up in this series by J.D. Robb, is the Nature Vs. Nurture debate. I love it! It always makes me think and it is very satisfying to see these people that could have become something very wrong, rise above nature and blood, to become amazing people.On the crime fighting aspect of the series, I find that Robb uses two types of narrative. Sometimes she carries more of a "Monk" style, where the perpetrator is clear if not early on, but soon. The other one is where we get a punch in the face when we finally find out out who it is. I really enjoy that she doesn't have only one style, since that always keeps me guessing =DI LOVE this series and if you have yet to check it out, please do so! The first few books might not compel you completely, but keep reading! You won't regret it!

Amazing
Nothing really to say except the characters are so well placed and the stories I love that they are separate and merged all at the same time. Don’t stop writing this series please I want to see these characters grow and continue to evolve.

Fantasy in Death
asy in DeathJ D Robb, once again hits the top for a thoroughly good read. The only fault I have is that once I start reading I just cannot put the book down until its finished. I have been a fan of Eve and Rourke since they appeared in the first book and enjoy the introduction of the new characters that appear in subsequent books. I confess that I have reread the series many times while I await the next book
