Compelling and enlightening
I have known of "Light" since Charlie's excitement of it last year. Being a fan of C. S. Lewis since high school myself, I was familiar with the "The Man Born Blind" short story but could not have imagined that a later version of it had existed. Then I became excited!Over the last six months, I have read and re-read "Light" and with each reading, found it more and more compelling. Like a good detective story, I witnessed from a bird's eye view the discovery of the story, the critical and detailed research conducted on the original manuscript of lewis's and then the rich history and comparisons between the original MBB and "Light", along with interviews with Walter Hooper and others! Truly, an exciting account of how a lost short story came to "light" and, for the first time, has been published!Even today, as I read Charlie W. Starr's "Light: C. S. Lewis's First and Final Short Story", I continue to findd my mind putting a lot of his (both Starr's and Lewis's) concepts of both light and glory into different perspectives in my own life.
