Great company, great product, this is something you and your plants NEED now! Mother-nature approved!
This isn't my first rodeo. These things are CRUCIAL for growing ANY type of plant. If you're about to put a plant into a bucket or plastic planter... just order a few of these. They're very inexpensive. I like how the bottom is extra-durable. I've seen the knockoffs of these smart pots rip out on the bottom. The material is like a composite of different types of fibers. They may be like a fiberglass/nylon type, but they're very tough and weather resistant. The sun tends to bleach the black ones a bit after a couple years, if you want something that will look nicer, they're better than the tan, though. I wish they made a forest-green colored smart pot that would blend into the garden a little more incognito, but maybe it will come someday. I know this company is 100% reputable and has some awesome people working for them. I met one of their reps a few months ago and he gave me some goodies and some info about future projects!

Jack and the Beanstalk from a Smart Pot
Receiving this product from my daughter as a gift, I was a bit dubious despite her hearty endorsements. The thing looked flimsy to me and I doubted the science behind it. My microclimate is foggy, cloudy, windy, and generally 50-68 degrees, so it's hard to grow food crops. This pot creates amazing growth! The black color absorbs any sunlight and heat, the airy pot encourages root growth and prevents the pooling and salting that can happen with overwatering in other pots, and the way plants grow in these pots is like the famed magical beanstalk Jack climbed. It's remarkable! The amaranth I planted in the gift pot grew overnight and continues to do so. Fighting the invasion of aphids cultivated by the ant people with soapy water, the amaranth aka Hopi Red Dye continues to produce seeds and to grow taller and taller. Seems like my 1,000 or so cats and squirrels don't like to climb its softness, a big bonus. It's mythical in outcome! Jack and the Beanstalk from a (Smart) Pot.

Loving the smart pots!!!
I am really enjoying the smart pots. I can make the smart pot smaller by folding over the sides and as the tomato plants grow I can slowly add more soil and unfold the sides to promote a healthy plant. Anything can be grown in these pots. I'm using the 7 gallon smart pots for tomatoes, garlic, jalepenos and onions at the present moment. I really like the fact that when hurricane's come the water will run through the pot instead of building up in the pot. The jalepenos and tomatoes are growing inside because it is winter time and I have them sitting in a trash bag so when I water them I don't damage my floor or tables. I am thinking about purchasing some of the smaller ones to start my seeds in every year for my spring/summer crops. They are reusable and washable.

Not sturdy, holds too much water
This is the first grow bag I purchased, after high recommendations from YouTube gardeners. At first everything seemed fine, but it seems flimsy. It also held onto water at the bottom with the top couple of inches dry. I tried a different brand (AC Infinity) and found it sturdier and drains better. Pictures here are the bags side by side. We had heavy rainstorms for the past 2 days. I moved them out in the sun hoping to dry a bit. I was concerned the bag would rip off I lifted by the handles.

Great Pot, handles could be more durable.
Pots work great, I have grown a fairly large vegetable garden with these pots. My plants are growing big and healthy. One thing I like about the fabric plants is I used a tip from another review of folding down the fabric when plant is small, then adding more soil to the pot as the plant grows. This works excellent. My only disappointment is the pots get heavy so the handles feel like they will tear off if I were to move the pots around too much. It is perfect when I just need to slide to another spot, just use handles with care.

Absolutely The Best
I've previously reviewed a larger model with sewn-on handles, this particular size (7 gal) has then integrated, or cut, into the fabric. I've picked them up full, probably close to 35 lbs and the handles actually performed, better than I anticipated but they do not "feel" anywhere near as strong as the sewed ones. I don't plan on regularly moving these, so for my purposes they're great but if you wanted to constantly move these around I think you'd experience handle failure sooner rather than later. I suspect that they're much easier to move than the non-handled variant, which is all that matters.

The best!
Not to tall, Not to wide, just right. They are buy far the best containers I have ever used and I've used all shapes and sizes. One thing to consider is how much soil they actually use. At first I thought a 5 gal bucket of soil would be more than enough for one container but I was wrong. 7 gal smart pots really take 7 gallons of soil. unlike some direction on other pots. I use a really light soil mix of compost, peat moss, vermiculite, and perlite for my containers and it's still very light when filled. Just pay attention when to water your house plants because the fabric really help the oxygen get to the roots and it will dry out faster than you would think. If you or someone you know uses anything else do them a favor and purchase the best potted containers on the planet! Smart pots!

Durable and idiot-proof.
I am probably the most negligent, inept gardener in the history of home gardening, and I've had nothing but good luck with Smart Pots. I've had my jalapeรฑo plants in these since the middle of May, and they have never been as healthy as they are now. My Hot Portugal chili plant looked like it was on the verge of death when I had it in a regular terracotta pot, but after being transplanted into a Smart Pot, there's been an unbelievable amount of new growth and it is literally sagging with peppers. They're also extremely effective against overwatering. This has been the rainiest summer in years and I haven't had to move the plants inside even once. You would have to try really, really hard to overwater your plants in these. Skip the heavy, fragile, finicky terracotta pots and get some of these. Your plants will thank you.
