This product by Drano solved our clogged kitchen sink drain issue with one application. I am going to use to prevent drain clogs as well. Excellent product!Very easy to use, has a child proof cap for safety, great value for the price and worked well.

for years, I have been using this in my bathrooms to keep up in the sinks to an absolute minimum. Seems to work well because my daughter and I both have long hair and we don’t get clogged drains in the shower not in the slightest. I also use this in the sink where people spit their toothpaste and all that lovely stuff. and surprise surprise the few times I have actually used it in the kitchen they clog, it never works! Like we’ve had two kitchen sink, clogs both from lettuce… Who knew… And this did nothing. It would sizzle and Smoke like it normally does, but the clog would still be there. I was slightly concerned about using kitchen cleaner in the bathroom, but pipes are pipes. There’s not really much of a difference and I have asked two different plumbers if these are OK in the bathrooms and they all say yes it’s just marketing. They are good for all pipes, which is great because I’m obsessed with these granules. They keep my bathrooms completely clear just follow the instructions, take a few samples like three put them down the drain and then follow up with hot but not boiling water. It will sizzle and smoke for a few minutes then give it 15 minutes to do it thing and then rinse. That’s it.

Oils and grease can build-up in the drain of kitchen sinks, and while it may not completely block the drain, it does cause issues. It can lead to the drain plugging when running a disposal, or otherwise drain poorly. However, since it generally does not completely plug the drain, most drain cleaners will just flow past the issue and not do much to resolve it, resulting in persistent and recurring issues. This cleaner however directly attacks the grease and eliminates it. I recommend using it a couple of times a year to keep the issues at-bay.The nice thing is that this container provides many treatments and should last you for at least 2-3 years.

It definitely has an effect, but it's not a long term solution. It specifies that it's a 2x option, after that a plumber is required and given the fumes it's probably corroding the PVC pipes. On the upside, it works as a short term solution, but wear a mask, pretty sure the fumes are hazardous.

I have been unable to find Drano crystals in stores, so I was happy to find it on Amazon. I have always used the crystals because I think they work better than the liquid.

To begin with, there are Warning notations on the product, as it is a very dangerous chemical to expose to any part of a living creature, or many materials. The material is categorized as the opposite of a strong acid, on the pH scale for chemicals. The directions to the "T". Two rounds, as directed. However, they should be listed not to breathe in any of the dust that accompanies the granules, as it goes up the nose, in the eyes and all over the places. If the granules were intact as solid granules, without dust, there should not be the same effect that was experienced. Sinuses and eyes burning, even with precautions taken. I would highly recommend the use of a good quality breathing mask, along with sealed goggles. The dust can still land on one's skin and react with moisture there. In other words, BE CAREFUL in the use of this product, or any dangerous chemicals. My kitchen drain is still sitting stagnant, as it didn't work. Both sides of the double sink has blocks to keep heavy material from going down and the users are fully aware of using a screen over the openings to avoid a clogged drain. Now, the dangerous, caustic chemical will have to be drained by removing the trap, with increasing danger, as the chemical can splash or spill onto surfaces or on the repair person. I would not buy or use ever again, personally. Am happy for those it worked for. Good for them.
