Up the Lypertek Ladder
I'm on a bit of an audio roll at the moment and I've just bought the 3rd generation of the Lypertek company's newest earphone, the Z5. A few more Zzzz and I'd be snoozing. The first gen Tevi's were a total surprise to me. They were excellent and for the price, I got mine at £79 pounds reduced from £99, they were the bargain of 2019.The sound was nuanced, with balanced mids, highs and with a good base shelf. For a true wireless, really amazing beating the competition at that price range and above. And I'm talking the big boys like Sony etc. Lypertek sold boat loads of these and made a fortune. One would think that a winning formula would be replicated. Then comes those nasty things my gran used to say were no, no's in the Bible (never read it, I prefer Tom Clancy) Greed and Avarice, the twins of delusion. The second generation shot up from £99 to £199! Sennheiser and Sony were now Lypertek's direct competition. Well, really it was no competition. Lypertek fell off the cliff. Not only was the price doubled, but the product, and I mean sound which is what it's all about to me, was degraded compared to the near perfect Tevi. And looks wise, nothing had changed in the second gen that made it stand out from the first apart from the box, which was now oblong from being tube shaped. The cloth like texture on the outside was also the same! AND... The IPX rating had fallen from IPX7 to IPX4. My great pleasure was standing in the shower with these on. It only happens once a year at Christmas but I looked forward to the feeling of water on my body and music in my ears. So not very happy. I had the new version but kept going back to the old because I preferred the sound. Then I saw that Lypertek had brought out their 3rd generation. The Lypertek PurePlay Z5. Yup, another Z but this time, to my delight, a remake. A very nice, pebble shaped case of hard plastic, great lid which clicks open with nice postioning where it stands solidly without collapsing in on itself. The buds themselves look totally different, with the Apple stem design which. as with all taste is subjective but I like it. My only complaint would be it stands out a bit too much away from the ear and could do with a refinement on the next, yup, Z iteration. The Z5 also comes for the first time with noise cancelling and a newly designed app. You can't use the Z7 app with the Z5 app.The noise cancelling works pretty well, but it's nowhere near as good as its higher end cousins from the likes of Bose and Sony. But the price is now a fantastic £119 and I kid you not, it's worth every penny for the sound. Lypertek has surpassed its first and not so good second generation, gone back to the drawing board and produced an astounding earphone for the price. It's a near audiophile quality (again, sound is subjective) signature with an AWESOME base (I thought I was being hit on the back of the head with a hammer when I was listening to Metallica's 'The Day That Never Comes') but it was so well controlled and never bled into the mids and was never bloated. It was just clean and compulsive. I'm not a basehead so to impress me, it takes a lot. The mids are also near perfect for me, vocals sitting just in front of the instruments and separation was good but not outstanding. I loved guitar plucks on the Z5. They really sound organic. These are TWS and although still in its infancy TWS has come a long way, but only wired earphones / headphones will give that big 'in a concert' feeling and perfect resolution. The app is simple and works really well and there's something on it called LDX. Not sure what that is but it makes the sound even better. The app has a 7 band equaliser but I haven't played with that yet as I'm not really into EQ unless the earphones are really awful and these are far from that. The battery life is fantastic at 7 hours for the buds and 35 hours with the case. Why can't the other big brands do this? It seems only the Chinese manage to give you value for money.Take a listen to these. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Have received a fault product twice
First time buying product was faulty with one ear-pod not charging. Returned and bought it again and the ear pods were not charging adequately only reaching 10% even after charging overnight. Returned it. Very unfortunate as i had received a great recommendation from someone in America who has a Z7 and Z5 but they have disappointed me every time. I know if i get a functioning pair they would be great as sound is excellent. Lypertek needs to look into this.

Excellent until the left bud stopped working
Sound quality was excellent from these ear buds & I was initially very happy with them. Unfortunately, I took them on holiday last week and the left bud refused to work... seems like it's stopped charging. They didn't have a lot of use & I've had them less than 2 years, so it's a bit disappointing that one has died already.

Great value, quality sound and easy to use
Received these headphones next day.Easy to setup and lots of options for the in ear buds to ensure good fit.Sound quality is good and levels can be managed via the app.I have used these in the gym, fit well don’t fall out. Also the ambient setting let’s you hear what’s going on around you.Couple of occasions the Bluetooth connection has slightly flickered. All in great value for money and alternative to AirPods.

Superb sound quality. Love them. They beat the bigger brands in many ways, but not all.
I have a real soft spot for these earbuds, and it's because of the incredible sound quality. You do need to get the right fit with the silicon or memory foam tips; i found the best seal was with the memory foam. They are very secure - and even though I sweat buckets, I was able to wear them for a 3km run - at no point did I have to readjust - brilliant! The app is really well thought through and you can tell that a whole tonne of thought has gone into this product. Little things like the feature of turning on the "Ambient mode" automatically when you pause the music - and to switch back to normal or ANC when you press play again...so obvious you wonder why this little specialist audio company are the only ones doing it. Also... ANC can be switched off... it doesn't default to ANC ON like on some other earbuds. There's only two issues... I would give the case 3/5...it's super easy to get the buds in and out but doesn't feel very premium...its not bad but they could have used metal or a premium polycarbonate or something. Secondly - the microphone. I need a good mic for work calls and sadly I had issues with this one: Whatsapp voice messages were crystal clear - excellent, btu on phone calls my voice sounded distant and muffled, on various different calls with different people. I had to send them back but will be looking for the Z3 to use just for music, or await a Z5 version 2.0 with better mic performance.

As good an in-ear ANC as I've experienced.
Fancied some ANC ear pods and didn't wanna go down the Apple route. I've tried other people's and not convinced they were worth the cash. These looked a good deal from Lypertek who I've bought from - and loved - before.I wasn't disappointed. As with my Tevis they connected to my bluetooth easily and quickly & now any time I take them out of their box they're connected before I have the first one in my ear.The ANC is as good as you could expect from an in-ear. If you really want to feel isolated you have to go over-ear in my opinion but these are really very good. The only issue I've had was on a screechy underground train but that's tested even my very expensive Sony over-ears.The touch controls took a little getting used to but are now totally intuitive and I've been absolutely amazed with the battery life. I've used them for many hours and am yet to charge them even once since they arrived. I didn't even charge them then! They look and feel quality and I love how many tips they came with. I found the perfect fit and they've never fallen out nor felt like it.A no brainer if you're after something like these. Far cheaper and far better than the Airpods Pro.
