This is a good adapter. I like it.
I have a tiny electronic mainboard that needs this interface, Rather than having to buy a whole new cord, I have this little device. Works as intended.

did not work
verified from multiple sources my Blackview phone did support MHL. Tried the directions exactly as written and multiple other steps to attempt to get this to work and it never worked- no video, no audio, no detection, nothing. Wasted money and due to my own fault missed the return window. Should have listened to other reviews but really wanted this to work to use camping in RV with downloaded content to phone.

Buy this to see your phone on your tv
Works well, and is good quality. This wasn't my first, but definitely my favorite.

Worked with separately-bought 5-pin to 11-pin adapter on Samsung Galaxy S4
Upgrading from 1 to 4 stars. Here's what worked for my decade-old Samsung Galaxy S4: the item you're looking at on this page (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PQL1MBQ) with a 5-to-11 pin adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESZIWJ4). You could also just purchase something like this OEM Samsung one (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BTCPQ5C) and not need the adapter at all. I have both options now. Up to you to make your cost-benefit analysis. I'm happy that I can now view my S4's screen on my ~2011 Hitachi non-smart TV. When I plug a power cord into the side of this MHL adapter, it registers a charge on my S4 by showing a lightning bolt over the battery indicator. I'll note, though, that the S4's battery level seems to fluctuate depending on what I'm doing with the phone. I suspect the spare AC-DC adapter (power brick) I plugged into the wall outlet isn't outputting enough current (amps) to keep up with high-demand video or computations. It might be possible to have a power cord providing enough to keep the phone at 100%, but I can't say for sure. Worth noting that the circuitry inside seems loose and I can hear it rattle when I shake it gently. The HDMI cable from the TV sometimes moves the insides, too. It shifts around in the plastic cutout and moves what it's plugged into. Pictures: 1 and 2- The adapter over the S4 screen, showing the extra 5-to-11 pin adapter between the MHL adapter cable and the S4 micro-USB port. The S4's output is mirrored on the TV behind it. 3- this MHL adapter (right, 5-pin male side) and the 5-to-11 pin adapter I bought separately that made it work (left).

it may not work for you it failed in my case.
I tried this with 3 of my phones and non produced anything but a black screen. a shame. it would have been perfect for my issue. just so you know what phone I tried it on. sm-g900P sm-g900v sm-n910t. same black screen on all. I had to fall back to adb scrcpy but that likes to disconnect a lot and won't stay connected for long periods. Fail...

Plugged into amaon fire tablet and then to TV and tried a projector, no signal on either. No picture. This seems flimsy almost like the hdmi side is hollow compared to the other cords I've purchased. I will be returning this.
