Is this mpc studio version considered to be the mkii model of it?

Can i record samples from my vinyl collection and use them with this? if so, do i need other equipment? i have a turntable and a solid mac computer.

Hi, Akai Pro support here! Yes, the included software (MPC 2) is suitable for capturing audio from your vinyl collection and will allow you to trigger the samples using MPC Studio's inbuilt pads. If your current turntable does not feature a USB interface, the use of an external phono/line-level audio interface (sold separately) will be required to appropriately feed the audio into your computer. Well-constructed bit of kit. Came with MPC Studio 1 and then MPC Studio 2 was made available for download also. Highly recommend for PC based use.
