Safariland J-K2C COMP II Speedloader black ,One Size

I have used the Safariland Comp I and Comp II loaders for several years. My Comp I loaders are great for all my J frame revolvers to include use with the Delta Ergo Grips,no issues. The Comp II that I had first were for my S/W 686. I do own both a Colt 1st model King Cobra(old model,not new) and an older MK III Lawman and have never found a speed loader that worked. These Safariland J-K2C are perfect on both these models. I prefer using “push-the-body” type loaders rather than trying to remember to turn the knob clockwise or CC!. The Star speed loaders are my 2d best for speed as their scalloped walls fit any grips and do not intefere with the body of the frame and are all “right turn” to unlock. Remember this: Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Right turn on a star to lock the loader,left to unlock. HKS is opposite,very confusing.

The media could not be loaded. Works great, can load by pressing against the palm of my hand after breaking it in a little, from my experience (have bought 3 so far and all of them break in rather quickly to the point where you don’t need to press it against a table to load unlike what most people say) highly recommend if you want to reload using your left hand as it doesn’t require cradling the cylinder like many other designs, only possible downside is you have to make sure you only press on outside of the loader when loading or it will not release the rounds (just practice and it won’t be a problem)

It just took a couple practice times to get it down. works great even for me (left handed)! When rounds are locked down they don't rattle around.

These are quite nice in the way they hold your rounds tightly with virtually no chance of accidentally releasing them and having them drop out prematurely etc. The important thing to have on your gun is a set of grips to accommodate the loader so that it will not bind up when trying to insert your rounds into the cylinder. If your grips don't leave enough room, things can get stuck, leaving you disabled until you get things free. This is because the speed loader releases the bullets by pushing the outer shell of the loader forward to sorta shoot the rounds into the cylinder, and if there is not enough clearance to do that the rounds will wedge tightly at a slight outward angle making it difficult to work free. If your grips aren't an interference, these speed loaders are WONDERFUL. If they are and interference, you should consider different ones anyway if you plan to proficiently use a speed loader of any kind, because the importance of room to perform the procedure is crucial. These are worth the money. The trick is getting used to the function of how these loaders operate. Once you figure out how to lock your rounds in (which is tough at first if you're not familiar with the style), you can repetitiously practice the process (motions) of ejecting the old rounds and reloading with the speed loaders. What's particularly nice is how you can dump the rounds back into the loader because of the center pin that lines up with the cylinder locking pin, this makes it really easy to unload the cylinder without having to just dump the rounds into your hand etc. So repetition with the same 6 rounds is very easy when practicing your reload muscle memory.

This thing is not easy to use. first you have to hold the rounds in with your fingers while you turn it over to put the rounds leads down on a hared flat surface then you have to pull your fingers out from under the bullets with out them falling out. Next you have to push down on the button until it stops then turn it clockwise until it clicks. the problem with this is the button slips under your thumb and it wont click. When you finally get it to click it dose hold the rounds very tight. That is the one star. Then it is a fight to release the rounds it says it is made to work with my weapon but it don't want to go by the chamber release button which it has got to do to release. There is nothing speedy about this thing and I will not get more. I would not recommend these to anyone who may be shooting compatition or someone who might find themselves in a fire fight. Two things I found one use a stiff piece of card board on top of your rounds and then turn it over instead of your fingers and two on the Taurus model 66 put the rounds into the chamber about half way then push up the ejector rod and it will release your rounds with out going past your chamber release button.

I really like the way this operates. Loaded it with some dummy rounds and made it eject the cartridges using a pen to see it working. Then I tried to use it on my Taurus 856 defender with Altamont grips, and it wouldn't work. It was hitting the grip panel, so it wouldn't reach the button in the center that releases the cartridges. To be fair, 5 star loaders hit the panel as well but will work because they use a knob release.It's no fault of the manufacturer, since they don't state that the 856 works with this loader, so I did rate it 5 stars because I like the way it works, although I had to return it. Just note if you're planning to use it with a Taurus 856 defender, it may not work depending on your grips.

The speed loader didn’t make me reload faster. For this one you have to push on the bullets on a hard surface with the speed loader on top, push onto the plastic knob and rotate clockwise to lock those bullets in it. When it came down to releasing it into my colt Python’s cylinder, it felt like a chore to me . Honestly , it comes to down to training and how much you use your speed loaders and I personally would rather deal with the HKS speed loader. It’s well made but it’s just not for me , maybe you will get better use out of it than I did .
