Celestron – EclipSmart Solar Shades Observing Kit – Meets ISO 12312-2:2015(E) Standards – Four Eclipse Glasses & Guidebook – Perfect for Safe Sun Viewing and Sunspots

Purchased in 2017 for the eclipse that went through Wyoming, these worked really well. My daughter and I got to watch the entire eclipse which lasted just two and a half minutes unfortunately, but it was still exciting, the first eclipse for both of us. They fit well on both of us, and she was just in the 6th grade. I still have them in case we go see another. They're very easy to use as most eclipse glasses are. We probably didn't need them as there was a group there handing out eclipse glasses to people who didn't bring any.

A must have for eclipse watching, unless you WANT to become blind. Protect your eyes with these glasses. Package indicates it meets the standards. They worked, I'm not blind, satisfied customer!

To test these prior to the eclipse, I used them to look at the regular, full sun on a nearly cloudless day. An important thing to note is the light will bleed over the top and bottom of these unless you press them to your face. So I did that, and the sun was the only visible thing in a sea of black and even it barely penetrated. It shows up as an orange/red ball with these. It is not at all painful to look at. The guide is very helpful. First it explains what an eclipse is and how it happens, in terms friendly to a curious child. The details on the total eclipse, on how it affects plants an animals, is fascinating. The best part of the guide is on pages 34 - 47 where they give the start and end times for both the Oct. 14, 2023 Annular Eclipse and the April 8, 2024 Total Eclipse, city by city as well as the eclipse magnitude for those of us only getting a partial eclipse. The booklet does contain a lot of advertisements for their products, but the useful information is well worth it.

These are safe.... Don't recommend staring at the sun ( even with these glasses) for more than 5 or 6 seconds at a time.

The glasses work great but don't rely on the eclipse times in the guidebook! I'm glad I double checked. It says Phoenix starts at 11:08 but it is actually 10:08. Apparently they don't know that Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time.

I bought these glasses for the viewing of the eclipse for myself and the kids. Likes: The glasses do help you look up to the sun without the harshness of the rays. You can fold them to fit smaller faces. They come in 4 pieces, thus value for money if you are having a family of 4. They also come with instructions on how to test them and use them which is great to do before going out to view the eclipse. Dislike: The surface area was too small especially for kids who tend to try to look for a wider space. Considering this, I would purchase the other type of viewing glasses that one holds to the face for next time. However, these still serve the purpose and we will still use them for the full eclipse coming in April 2024.

Bought these for the eclipse in April 2024 over North America. I had purchased similar paris of Celestrons in the past and was very happy with them. But I misplaced them and had to buy a new pair. They worked perfect for this occasion. My daughter and I had a great bonding experience, this being her first eclipse. Also made in America, which I support 💯 great value for your money, fit well, not to big, quality is great. I've since found my other sets of Celestron glasses that I purchased back in 2017 for that eclipse. Those 2017 glaases are in great shape, so durability is solid. Definitely recommend..

I had a great experience with the glasses and books that came with purchase. I bought this for the October 2023 solar event and will be using it for the April event in 2024. I was very happy with the purchase. I bought two packages so that I had enough for my 8 family members. My mother-in-law brought a pinhole box and it was fun to compare the two experiences. I definitely preferred the glasses. :) The booklets that came with the glasses were well done and informative. I enjoyed passing it around to family while the solar event was ongoing. I am looking forward to April!

J’avais acheté ces lunettes pour l’éclipse totale de soleil en avril 2024 et c'était vraiment très bien, on a vraiment vu toute l’éclipse car le temps était magnifique. Je les ai ressorties pour l’éclipse partielle d’aujourd’hui. Je suis vraiment contente de mon achat et je le recommande à toutes les personnes qui s’intéressent à l’astronomie.

Peccato che ad un certo punto le nuvole abbiano coperto il sole, fino a che è stato possibile vedere, sono andati bene. Ho osservato il sole senza alcun fastidio.
