Great seller
This book came super fast! I was really happy with that. The book looked brand new to me. So I was happy with that as well.

I can teach better than you, and I am in a cubicle at the district
Our principal (who couldn't teach his way out of a paper bag) "required" every teacher in the school to have this book. That mandate probably didn't have anything to do with the fact that one of the (ahhh..) authors is highly placed in the local district hierarchy ... riggghhht. I found 'Class Acts' to be redundant, trite, and of little use beyond taking up space on my bookshelf - and these are the books strong points. If there was an original idea in the book I could not find it. If you want to hear the original ideas from original authors there are more than a handful of good books by respected, well known, non self published authors on the same subject.G. M. Trevelyan said - "Education ... has produced a vast population able to read, but unable to distinguish what is worth reading." I guess I am uneducated; because I can distinguish what is worth reading and this book isn't.Pass on this one; don't waste your time or money.

Good principles, difficult to apply.
I got it for my classroom management class. The principles are great, but without my professor explaining some of the chapters, it's hard to apply what they're saying.

I love this book
I love this book!! It is easy to read and understand. I am an instructional coach so I use it everyday with the teachers at my schools to help them become more effective in their instruction. It has saved many teachers, as they come to understand clear expectations and learned how to get and keep the attention of the students so teaching happens. The engagement section is a must to read and put to use. We can't keep teaching the way we used to even 10 years ago. Teachers can make changes in their environment to increase learning. Enjoy!
