Great tool for the shop!
Useful tool! Smooth action, accurate, easy to read display, solid build. I use it for more than just a marking tool.

Happy!
I received this digital marking gauge yesterday. Shipping was very rapid. It is extremely well made, sturdy, and very easy to calibrate (a no brainer). I know it will be an excellent marking gauge. A disc shaped, stationary wheel scribes the wood. I tried marking with the gauge across and with the grain of some Spanish Cedar scrap, and the marks were all very distinguishable, clean, and with good depth. I used to use a good making knife and T-square but I am really looking forward to using the digital gauge because it reads out distance in either fractional inches (to a 1/64), thousandth of an inch, or millimeters to 1/100 of a millimeter. I'm happy!

WHY?? WHY NOT!! Great deal for the money.
The gauge is heavy and has a feel of quality. It seems to be very accurate (down to half a thou it matches my other precision instruments). If you want to scribe a line EXACTLY 0.25 inches from an edge, this is the tool to do it. That being said, it's a little fussy to nail the adjustment (there is no micro-adjust like on a Glen-Drake TiteMark) but I found by tapping the end of the gauge with my finger, I can fairly reliably move it in thousandths, Since this is a tool mainly for hand-tool woodworking (power tool users don't really need to scribe knife lines) it begs the question - WHY? Again, it's a question of accuracy. In one scenario - you might want to set a mortise, but you don' t have your fancy, double knife mortise gauge handy. You can set one wall of the mortise, zero the readout there and move 3/8 (or whatever) over and scribe the other wall. OR In the case where you are gauging off the thickness of another piece of wood, as you might for marking out dovetails, you might care less about the exact, down-to-a-thou measurement - UNLESS you need to repeat that measurement somewhere else and have already reset your gauge - THEN that digital readout might just be your best friend. You can set the gauge right back to a known measurement and be certain that it's within .0005" - which is certainly close enough for even the finest woodworking. In addition, if the battery dies (mine came with a battery, PLUS 2 spares) it still works just like a classic wheel marking gauge. For the price, it's a very good deal.

Nice tool. Heavy construction
Nice tool. Heavy construction, smooth action, easily sharpened cutting wheel, good lock on the slider. This much better than the cheap "analog" versions and even better than the similarly priced Veritas Wheel Marking Gauge.

Zero is NOT zero
I find it very strange that not one review I’ve seen mentions the fact that the marking wheel is not ‘zeroed’ when the gauge is set to zero. It is 1/32” off. This isn’t mentioned anywhere in the product’s descripition. Otherwise… yeah. It’s a digital measurement tool with something to mark at its tip. It works.

Far better than any of the old school wheel marking gauge
I was in the market for a good quality wheel marking gauge since my DIY marker wasn't accurate enough. I decided to give the digital one a try and it totally improved my woodworking measurement precision. I found several different ways to use it and each one is a game changer. No longer I need to give my dado fits countless try out to joint the plywood boxes. The only complaints is that the cutting wheel is not sharp enough to leave a substantial mark on hard wood. Other than this minor issue, this tool is one of my best investment in this expensive hobby.

well built
This gauge is built strong, the beam is .235 inch thick and .51 inch wide. The base is .20 thick, 1.96 wide x 1.29 deep. all together it weights over 1/2 lb The readout assembly slides smoothly and locks solidly(does not slip when marking). The slide can be moved quickly without losing count. This is a purpose built tool and well worth your $.

Excelentes materiales
