It is what it looks like
Pencil works well. My 7 yo son uses these since the lead is thick and doesn’t snap as easily when he presses down.

The joy of a mechanical pencil with more substantial lead
Better value on AMZ over specialty stationery stores where I’ve spotted these. I still use pencils for sketching out crafty schematics so I like the thicker gauge of this lead. Comfortable and fun to use.

Nice pencil, could be a little thinner
I use this when I'm out shooting film. I like to keep notes about every image I capture and this is a good partner for my notebook. It's pretty thick but the size is right. If it could be made a little thinner it'd be perfect. Sometimes it can be a little hard to write with.

Rattly
I like the look and feel of writing with this pencil, perhaps the only 2.0mm mech on the market with a built-in eraser on the end, rendering it usable as an alternative to wooden pencils. However, the metal holder that the eraser sits in rattles around loudly while writing, since it attaches itself to the pencil by plugging a narrow rod at the bottom into the plastic tube that holds the lead. Since the plastic tube is loose and free to wobble around, so does the eraser holder around the rim of the pencil. I wrapped a rubber band around the rim and that dampened it a little, but sadly not enough to alleviate my annoyance. Since the eraser holder doesn't seem to have any other function from what I can tell, and replacements for the eraser are expensive, I may just leave it out permanently and fill the gap with a slightly wider eraser refill. My only other idea at present is to apply some lubricant to the inside of the metal rim, but that seems messy and less effective than my other solution.

Bold take on writing
You couldn’t ask for a cooler pencil - you’d think this came from a high-end calligraphy or card store. I have the skinny version of this pencil as well - when you combine the two you can make bold and fine writing all in lead. My only critique is I wish the lead were a bit harder to be able to push a little harder for even more of a dramatic effect.

New old-style writing tool wins!!!
It's got a large barrel and it writes wide but I love it. Use it everyday.

Great lead pencil!
This arrived early than expected! I got this pencil because I wanted to experiment with thicker lead to draw with in my sketchbook. It’s a great size and compact. They have different colors but I chose the plain wood in case the colored ones would fade or scratch over time. The feel of the pencil is great on hold; not too short to too long nor too thin or chunky. It’s even better that it’s mechanical! No mess! The 2.0 lead is a great size for shading. Only draw back is that it is difficult to keep the lead on point so it would be nice if it came with a little sharpener just for the lead. Overall, great addition to my art supplies! I love Ohto!
