Great Size for the Price
I bought this product to use as an acid peel for my face, hands and décolleté area however; this is not the seller's purpose for this product. I have found that it works great with some draw backs. First con, it does not come with any instructions; since this is not the intended purpose of the product you either need to know what you are doing or need to find instructions on the internet or from your doctor. The second drawback is that this product is quite a bit thinner than an acid peel intended for the skin, so the user needs to be careful to avoid applying too much and having the acid run to non-intended areas. Now for my experience: I've had several peels both from a doctor and a spa before attempting to do one myself at home so I knew what to expect, otherwise I may have been a little concerned. I wasn't sure what strength to start with so I first bought a 50% lactic acid and began with a low application time and gradually increased the time with each application. If you are a beginner I would strongly suggest you starting using a lower percentage strength than this one. I would also suggest completing a successful patch test to the area of skin that is intended to treat to get an idea of the length of time to allow the product to process and what to expect with the burn. I treated my face and I plan on also treating my hands and décolleté area sometime in the future. Then I decided I wanted to be more aggressive so I purchase this 88% lactic acid. Thank God I decreased the application time when applying this one to only 3 minutes, less would have been sufficient. It had a nice sting to it which was to be expected. I washed it off, it looked like I had a sunburn (which I didn't experience with the 50% peel) and still felt the sting, then I applied a moisturizer which increased the sting to an unbearable level of pain. I had to wash off the moisturizer and neutralize my face with a solution of 2 teaspoon baking soda and 1 cup warm water; I would suggest having a neutralizer already prepared before applying the acid. If needed, for quick neutralization, use a cotton pad to apply while the acid is still on your face or apply the solution after you have rinsed the acid off, which is what I did. The sting was still irritating enough that I then had to apply a 1% hydrocortisone cream. I had a similar experience when having a peel from a doctor so I knew what to do, but I did panic for just a minute. A few hours later the sting had cooled down enough that I was able to apply my regular moisturizer without any discomfort. Day 2, the sting is completely gone and the peeling progress has begun. I have one place where the acid removed a small patch of skin and today I have a small scab on that area similar to what I have experienced with being waxed and a bit of skin was removed in the process however, I am not concerned. One week later, all heeled, beautiful result. Pores smaller, skin tone more even, blemish decreased dramatically and an overall brighter appearance. This product can be diluted with water to decrease its intensity.

Curing my skin!
Pleasant surprise! I have had keratosis pilaris my entire life, as well as acne, scarring, and dry skin. I tried adding a few tablespoons to bathwater, and found my skin felt much improved. Then, I tried mixing 2 teaspoons with 1 cup water and putting this in a spray bottle. I spritz my whole body, then massage it in with a homemade lotion (aloe gel, rosehip seed oil, tea tea & carrot seed essential oils). I spritz problem areas once more afterward (like acne on chest, back), and yes I even spritz my face! While it's quite strong, I've been on prescription acids/retinoids/steroid creams from the dermatologist since teenage years to control skin conditions, so maybe I am more used to the effects of this concentrated lactic acid...but wow it works better than all of my medications! I no longer use my AmLactin, KP Duty by Dermadoctor, Epiduo, benzoyl peroxide, or adapalene (etc. those are just the medications I am remembering lol). The acid creams were oily, dense, and had an ammonia smell. The acne meds? Aged my skin to hell but provided no help. This pure lactic acid does not have a strong ammonia scent, but it will smooth skin on contact. I am watching my acne heal, my KP dissolve, my scars and wrinkles begin to fade. I will continue to purchase more of this miracle product and update my review months down the line. Wouldn't it be something if I could finally heal myriad skin problems with a $10 bottle of pure lactic acid?! Take that over-chemicalized skincare industry!

Love this product!!!!!!
I have used MANY peels at home and MANY professionally and I have to say I do like this one!!! That being said I thought long and hard about how I would use this product. I purchased a 1.00 mm derma roller and rolled my face two days before doing the peel, I'd never rolled before so I was reluctant to do it the same day. My skin is very congested and I felt it needed a head start. I mixed the 88% acid with glycerin because of the many benefits it has for the skin. My mixture was half and half making it 44%. I left it on for 3 mins without any burning and neutralized with 1 part baking soda and 3 parts water. My skin looked refreshed immediately after. I was expecting peeling since I rolled but only got a slight bit around my mouth. Next time I'm going to do a higher percentage and mix with aloe vera juice to see if that makes a difference and roll the same day.....I don't suggest rolling and doing a peel the same day if you haven't done either/or before and don't know your own skin. My skin is really tough/resistant and I use to get microdermabrasion before a VI Peel so I was ok doing this. I will be ordering this product again!!!!!

It places the lotion in the basket
Purchased to boost results of AmLactin KP lotions and exfoliate. But, because I’m an impatient spaz, I used this product full strength / undiluted (under the desk at work, as soon as my Amazon box arrived). :) Dabbed a little on feet and a dark bug bite scar on leg.NOTE if using for the first time... this acid looks & feels like plain water. There is no sensation when you apply - so you may not think it’s working. And be tempted to reapply. A few times. The reaction is delayed. A day or two after using, I rubbed my leg and a nice piece of moist skin came off. (Also at work. Making me wonder how long it had been hanging off...?) Tougher skin was fine, but I peeled in thin, moist sheets on calf, tops of feet and up the backs of heels. So TMI. Don’t do what I did. *This product is potent and effective.* The bug bite scar is hardly noticeable now. :)
