Many others you can not. - You get both SAE and metric and it's easy to tell the difference between them.

used this to identify the thread size on a head cylinder bolt i couldnt find specs on even in my service manual. works very well as expected. simple and to the point. i like the form factor to and it not being another tool in a bulk case like some thread gages and i can simply hang it on the side of the tool box always easily to be found. well made on a metal cable so i see it lasting for a decent amount of time especially for the reasonable price. as a person that collects all my hardware this will be nice to further sort them out by thread sizes as well

Pros - quality is nice - fair price - has everything I need - all in one place, easy to keep track of parts Cons - hard to use the male side when you’re trying to screw one in, it is awkward to bend the wire which can put the screw off-axis as you’re trying to test it.

When you need to find a bolt or nut size for either replacement or to find the right size tap or die, this thing is great. It is a real time saver.

This is a nut and bolt gauge for determining the true size of random nuts and bolts. The overall length of the string is 30-inches. Each gauge is made of metal, and each is clearly marked with the size. There are 12 metric sizes and 14 SAE sizes. Each of the 26 gauges is just over one inch long and can measure a bolt on one end and a nut on the other. You test the gauge by literally screwing on a nut or bolt. There is no guessing or 'almosts.' Each gauge is separated by a pearl-sized ball, and it couldn't be easier to use. This is splendid. I'll be buying these as gifts.

Just what I hoped for. The pieces are well finished, with good looking screw and nut threads. Easy to read sizing on the darker metric pieces, and most of the SAE are easy to read, with some benefiting from a quick swipe of a sharpie across the numbers, followed by a quick wipe off of the surface, leaving the etched numbers darkened.

When you need this, you need this. Before I got one of these, I was constantly having to go to the big box hardware store with my screw/bolt/item in hand to try to figure out what the size and thread was. This has saved me so much time, engery and fuel. I'm in my 50s and find this to be fairly easy to read as well. I've bought two different sets from different suppliers and specifically chose this one because it was easier to read. Because the metric sizes are darker, the print has more contrast, thus easier to read, but I can read the SAE sizes without much effort as well. On the con side, this seems heavier than it needs to be. Much of that is the cable itself and not just the nut/bolt sizers. Also, because it's on a cable, it can get unwieldy, so I just loop it thru a caribiner. There's more SAE than Metric so I have two smaller loops for SAE and one larger loop for metric. Then I just clip it to the end of my tool bag. Seems to work well enough.

I was not sure if I should get this type or the board type, glad I got this as it means I can easily check thread sizes in difficult to reach places.

Easy to read sizes

Simple useful product to identify threads with, it has both male and female threads, try the unknown thread, if it works then great

What can I say, a good selection of SAE and metric threads. Easy to test a candidate thread. They are as described. Recommended.
