Good quality paper, and I love the narrow rule.
I'm a writer, and I keep a few different notebooks for different purposes like brainstorming, morning pages, and rough drafts of various projects. These are my new favorite notebooks.Size & Weight:The size and weight of these notebooks are perfect. They're thin enough to fit into my netbook case alongside the device but are large enough that I don't fill them up too quickly like I would a 7x9 notebook. The weight of the paper is just right, too. It doesn't tear easily or crinkle up because you accidentally slid your hand across it.Sturdiness:These notebooks feel substantial in my hand and not flimsy. The cover is actually quite durable, which I didn't expect when I first started using them. I pick these up and move them around frequently, stuff them into my netbook case and my backpack, have my cats kick them around, and they're holding up just fine. Also, I use a fountain pen, and the paper is of good enough quality that the ink doesn't bleed through.Favorite Features:I really love the narrow rule--it's HARD to find truly narrow-ruled paper. Also, they lie flat, another thing that's hard to find in a notebook without a spiral binding getting in the way. Lastly, there's a pocket in the back cover for other notes I need to tuck in to keep tidy and reference later.I plan to keep a stack of these at the ready going forward.

Black cover inside plus outside
When you put this soft cover journal into a sleeve, you’ll see black carton inside! Aesthetically perfect! The pages are light creamy with round edges. The binding is perfect. The journal thin.

Just what I needed!
These notebooks are the best. I purchased these a couple times before. I love the fact that they are light weight. This is the brand for you if you have to carry a lot of books for school but don’t want to add on weight in your bag. It’s the size of a Composition notebook without the design on the front. There are enough pages (120) for you to get your work done. This brand is my go to.

Indispensable for Note-taking and Brainstorming
TL;DR: Affordable. Perfect size. Durable.Great for note taking. Not great for bullet journaling (because soft cover and ghosting).I am a life-long learner. I'm forever taking online courses, reading, brainstorming, or studying scripture. These are my go-to notebooks for capturing what I'm learning or any ideas I'm working through/ brainstorming for my fiction writing.I've bought square grid, and dot grid. I honestly don't have a preference most of the time, I just buy whatever is cheapest at time of purchase. I love the black covers because it's just a classic look, but I also love the kraft paper covers for doodling on. It takes me back to middle school when I covered my text books with brown paper grocery bags. :)Bonus points for writers: You know those notebooks that are incredibe? I'm talking leather bound, hand-sewn notebooks with pulpy thick paper that makes you sweat with anxiety at every simpering, idiotic thought you might dare to write in it? This is not that. This is a notebook you can live in, where your thoughts can breathe and truly grow. They're nice enough that you can save them on a shelf for later reference, but not nice enough where you'd feel guilty tossing it out later. If you have someone, or yourself, who is a student, a writer, a life long learner, or a combination of the three this is a great purchase/ gift.If you are looking for a notebook for bullet journaling or for using more than just your standard pen, however, I'd suggest getting a notebook with a higher GSM on the paper quality.

Excellent journal/sketchbook. Just what you'd expect from Moleskine.
If you're reading this review, there's a good chance you've owned a Moleskine product previously. If that's the case, you get exactly what you'd expect from these Cahier journals. The paper is the same make and quality as their hard binding products and the "softback" type as well. The binding on these is a lot simpler and is similar to to a simple magazine binding (the type that uses staples in the center, not the glued type) except these are actually stitched together, which makes for something of a rustic feel. The cover is a pressed cardboard material as opposed to the typical Moleskine leather-type substance. It is durable and unlike the typical cover, you can actually write on these with typical writing instruments (pen, pencil, etc) which can be quite useful for personalizing your Moleskine. I rather like this style of cover and own both the red and the natural brown kraft. The red is a bit more muted than the red leatherette Moleskines, but it still has a very rich look. There is a flap on the inside back cover for storage, but don't expect to put a lot back there. These come with 3 individual journals, which makes them rather economical for various purposes. The size is exactly as described in the dimensions section and is a very comfortable size for writing and general use. (Some of the small moleskines are difficult to write in unless you are sitting at a desk, or even then if your hands are large like mine). I have unlined Cahiers that I use as sketchbooks and they're great for that purpose. To some extent, this different cover type makes these Moleskines the ones I turn to most often when I just want to put pen or pencil to paper.Someone else voiced disappointment in the paper of their cahier for sketching. I'm comparing 3 different Moleskines and there may be slightly more texture to the unlined cahier in front of me compared to a ruled standard hardback and a graphpaper softback. It is very subtle. I've been using pencil in this sketchbook and it is absolutely wonderful for taking the graphite. It really does give excellent control while still maintaining a smooth texture (as opposed to thicker art pads I own which have too much texture for my taste). I also own a ruled cahier kraft medium sized and red ruled cahier and there is absolutely no difference I can feel in the papers of the lined cahier and standard Moleskines. Your mileage may vary, of course.Great sketchbook IMHO. No complaints at all. Enjoy!

decreasing quality
I own an older version of these notebooks, and I used it as sketchbook that worked well with alcohol-based markers without too much bleeding (sure, you cannot use the back of the page, but it is always the case with markers). It was even recommended, by some artists, as an everyday sketchbook for ink and markers. Now, this new version has a *much* lower quality. The paper surface feels very different,, less resistant, different coating, quite cheap. The ink from a fineliner pen is very much visible on the other side of the page (so not really useful for note-taking either) and bleeds through the paper for thick applications. The application of markers is also very different compared with the older version: you can actually see the marker "ink" almost puddling on the paper before being absorbed and bleeding quite heavily through the paper. I expect drawing on this paper will empty your markers very quickly. The picture shows the bleeding of markers marks on a sheet of bristol paper that was placed underneath the old and new version of the notebook page during the marker application.

Just great quality paper - colour and size are perfect.
I am a huge fan of the moleskine line of notebooks and diaries. The paper is second to none in my opinion. It is sufficiently thick not to allow bleed through (I use a rollerball), it's smooth but does not have that sometimes slippery "plasticky" feel that overly smooth paper may have. Yet it has just the right amount of paper 'grip', without being scratchy. I feel that the spacing of the lines is optimum - it's not too wide which seems to encourage me to scrawl all over - the Moleskine line spacing however is narrower than other notebooks and this just seems to encourage me to write my notes neatly. Above all, I like the colour of the pages - it's not blindingly white but a much softer neutral hue. The pages lie flat and there is a little flap on the inside of the back cover where you can stuff loose bits of papers and notes. The XL size is my favourite - again, its size is unique - it's just right. Not too large like A4 and yet a bit larger than A5. Goldilocks would have been happy. No wonder it is the notebook of writers. I am an academic and I make copious notes in my job, and somehow the moleskine books get my creative juices flowing more so than other notebooks I have used in the past. It is more expensive than run of the mill notebooks of course, but I think the price is competitive when compared to expensive luxury brands. As I said, the magic is in how it encourages me to fill its pages and get me to think 'out loud' on paper.

A good set of tinted notepads for daily use
I’m a PhD student and often find that I need pen and paper around to scribble things when I’m in the middle of my research. I previously used to by the soft leather bound moleskins. However, that got pricey as I would get through them a bit too quick and at £16 a pop it does add up.These are great because you get the moleskin quality paper without the leather. This, no extra cost. So 5/5 I would recommend for any student who loves quality paper.

Great little set of notebooks. Worth spending a bit extra..
3 books. Not sure how many pages in each but would guess at somewhere around 100. Great size (see ruler) that strikes the balance between being easy to store/carry around and actually having enough space to do stuff in.Paper is on the thin side and the books are bendy but it works! Pages are also blank so keep that in mind should you need lines like it turns out I actually did. I would describe the colour as a classy burgundy and page colour as an eggshell white. I think the "Extra Large" in the item description is a bit of a stretch but overall happy with the purchase.

Longtime buyer - thoroughly recommend
I’ve been buying Moleskine journals for some time now and is my preferred choice for writing. The paper quality is soft to the touch which gives a smooth writing experience. I tend to write with a fountain pen (Parker, Medium Tip) and pleased that it doesn’t blot through the paper. One thing Is the price and no doubt thou can find cheaper alternatives. So I normally buy them when any offers pop up.
