Cayenne Pepper Powder Bulk 5 LB all Natural Red Pepper Spice 50,000 SHU Heat, Commercial and Home Cooking

Looking for a bulk container of cayenne pepper to deter animals from peeing, pooping and digging in my yard and gardens, I found this 5 lb container equipped with slits in the top. I have sprinkled some out in the problem areas and it appears to be helping, but I've only had the pepper for a short time. It is harmless to the offending animals but not a pleasant sniff. I read that it also works for fire ants and will try it for those next summer.

My sweet elderly neighbor has seen a small family of foxes in her back yard, and they apparently have their den in the woodsy part of my yard. They try to dig up mice & chipmunks under her back yard shed, and she is terrified of them. I got this big jug of cayenne pepper to spread along the shed perimeter. She re-sprinkles it after rain, and it seems to work. These are suburban foxes who are not terribly afraid of humans.. the Mama & pup will dash away if you yell, but Daddy Fox will hold his ground and stare at you. No harm to any pets has occurred.

I purchased this to use on the dead grass spots in my yard due to rabbits! It is working great! Because the pepper is a powder, it goes farther than spending money on other deterrents. Just wear a mask or spread when it's not windy!

I find it effective in discouraging neighborhood dogs from using our small yard. The container is a little too large and heavy for sprinkling over the area. I bought a smaller shaker for anpply and it is easier to apply evenly. I would still buy it again as it is a great price for the amount of product you get.

I've been looking for bulk powered cayenne pepper, and this 5lb container is perfect and reasonably priced! Caveat: I will NOT be using the contents for cooking/food preparation, but rather for pest control: wild rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, dogs and cats (that roam onto my property and cause damage. So far, it is working great and I thank all those others who recommended cayenne pepper for this purpose!

Good deterrent to keep squirrels from digging in particular areas. They apparently don’t like to touch peppery stuff. Not sure if it would work to keep them out of flower or vegetable gardens, but my problem was more the digging.

Save for cooking. I tasted it and it's hot. Not a great ground animal deterrent. Works a little if you use a ton but they come right back. Specifically tried for bunnies, squirrels, and gophers. If you came to this to deter animals (gophers), what I learned is you have to trap them if you want them gone.
