My home has an attached garage which has a heavy fire door that came with two similar spring tension hinge closers. One of the hinges broke so that the door wouldn't fully close and latch. I found this two pack at only slightly more than the cost of one at the local home supply store. From the photos, the UL stamp is clearly seen which means that these have been tested for the function of closing a fire door. I made sure that the size, shape and hole pattern matched my existing hinges so I didn't need to modify the door or frame. I installed both hinges so now the door has three spring closers instead of the original two. Installation was simple and quick as all parts are included for wood or metal doors. Just a screwdriver or drill/driver with a Phillips but is needed. I easily adjusted the tension with the included tool so that the door just latches when opened about half way. I also reduced the tension on the existing hinge and roughly matched it with the two new hinges so now all three are under less tension and should last forever. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Good product for the price. My only issue is the holes didn't line up exactly with the holes from my previous hinges. These were about an 1/8 inch short, which meant predrilling new holes for the inside of the cabinet doors, which for 28 doors will be time consuming. But I have had no problems yet with squeaky hinges or screws breaking off, as others have noted. If I run in to any of those issues will update this review..but for the money, they are definitely worth the price and are about 1/3 the cost of big box stores..

Absolute garbage. Where to start would be the obvious coloration differences. Although when you receive the product everything is matching black, something in the differences of materials used caused severe discoloration shortly after installation. The finish around the key hole also wore off extremely quick (despite being very careful of key insertion), and even the finish around the push latch (which should see very little wear and tear). And the icing on this #*@! cake is that despite tightening down the hardware effectively the system still seems to have pivoted. By looking at the picture you can see the latching mechanism is off kilter from the bottom anchoring point for the handle. What's odd is everything is tightened down more than enough. As you can see from the picture of the piece that anchors the lower part of the handle down on the inside of the door, it's tightened so much that it's slightly indented the steel of the door even. I've sat on this review for a couple years thinking that maybe there was a solution. I've tried tightening things to align the parts better and it doesn't stay. I've tried saturating the discolored parts with oil, which helps for a day or two before the discoloration comes back. Not sure what to say about it, surely mine could be a product defect, however at this point I'd either like a replacement or my money back.

Two of these hinges work perfectly on our back door to keep it "mostly" closed since our kids ( who seem to have been raised in a barn, but I promise where raised in a loving home) can not close exterior doors nor turn off lights. These hinges do a great job of picking up the slack. I will be buying more. Cheers!

I love these hinges! They look beautiful against my creamy white cabinets, and really changed the look of my kitchen. They close tight, are easy to install, and are very stable. The only issue I had was one or two of the screws were damaged/unusable, so I had to find a substitute. If you look at some of the other oil-rubbed hardware online, these look almost too black, but in hand they match very well.

Bought a set to fix a garage access door. The fit was right on and took less than 30 minutes to install. Simple to load the spring, watch that you don't exceed the recommended winding tension. 3 holes for 180 degree door and 4 hole for 90 degree door open. Caveat the instructions for the pin were vague, pin does not go completely flush in the tension slot. Pin won't be completely flush but completely fine as tension will hold it in place and there is no interference with anything.

Don’t install on a door that is going to experience extreme weather. When it was below freezing this winter our lever broke while trying to get in. This door handle is beautiful, but it needs to be durable. The manufacturer needs to fix the strength issue with that little lever you push down with your thumb!

They work very well. We’re easy to install fit perfectly.
