Beyond Excellent
This book us brimming-over with excellent, well organized information. The author is very creative in his approach to the Oracle, and passes on some great ideas for magickal and meditative use of the figures.I'm especially grateful for the information and symbols of the Spirit Intelligences related to the various topics of questions asked when divining. There's a lot if deeply detailed information packed into this book. Enough to spend many happy hours delving into the 16 archetypically-powerful figures.I've thought of myself as well-versed, especially in the divinatory aspects if Geomancy. But this book is expanding my understandings way outside the proverbial lines, and of the proverbial table!I love knowing how little and limited my knowkedge is, because I get to duve into the adventure of learning!Kudos, Mr. Greer!KINDLE QUALITY ALERT:All the images in the Kindle edition are too small - even when magnified - to view properly. I have notified Amazon about the issue.I highly recommend spending the little extra money for the hard-copy book. It's well worth it.

The best text on geomancy I've encountered.
This is a pretty detailed resource on Geomancy. The only problem is that some sections lack explanation, like advanced methods for interpteting the charts, there's enough info to interpret one, but I found myself re-reading the section wondering "Am I doing this right?". I think the biggest problem area in those regards is favorable/unfavorable aspects & perfection of charts. If you're going to use it for basic things, the text is enough to get started. I have found several readings I did were very accurate. Overall it's a must have for any student of divination. If you're into magick or the esoteric arts, then you should also pick it up.If they expand the text into a second edition, I'll pick that up too.

Brilliant book. I use this pretty much every week ...
Brilliant book.I use this pretty much every week as I work my way through the curriculum in Mr. Greer's other book, the CELTIC GOLDEN DAWN. Daily now since 2013, I've been doing a geomancy shield reading, which I learned how to do in this book. This work is teaching me advanced techniques, processes for understanding my divinations after I've done them, and helped me develop a broader set of advanced skills through memory work, ritual, scrying and regular practice. It comes off the shelf at least twice a week, sometimes more. A great teaching tool, and once learned — a great reference work as well!

Versitile, Simple, and Accurate
I love geomancy because it's a very versatile and simple system of divination. You can use a myriad of tools to be able to cast a geomantic chart, anything from dice, playing cards, tarot cards, stick/earth, bag of pebbles/rocks/marbles.Tarot requires the usage of the deck which can get damaged or lost. Astrology relies on complex computer programs that may not be available in times of financial strife like the coming depression. No matter what, geomancy can be used under any circumstances with even the most meager of tools. All one has to do is have this book or commit the information to memory like in the old days.Geomancy is a very powerful and accurate system of divination, and John Greer did a wonderful job on this book not only showing geomancy, but geomantic magick as well.10 Stars!

fantastic book
It's a good starting point for learning about western style divination. If you like Iching but the Chinese metaphors don't make sense to you then give Geomancy a try. The best part is after you study and practice it for a while then you don't need a book any more. The one down side is that there is no good example of how people used to do it by poking a stick in the sand. Someone should make a video so we can see how this is done.

Great for a beginner
Great for a beginner, has a lot of information on the history of geomancy, explanations of each of the figures, and how to read charts. The chapters include an in-depth look at the houses, figure placements, and the nuances of interpreting a shield charts.

It's short, practical and most of all works.
I really enjoyed this book and the audio book that went with it. I actually listened to the audio book twice as well as bought the Kindle version of the book. It's a fantastic divination system with lots of depth and it actually works.

Sehr interessant

Excellent - Concise and Expansive look at Geomancy
Geomancy is an art today which as the text mentions is often overlooked today but in Renaissance times was a staple Divination practice, highlighting its survival and the history of its (watered down) inclusion into the Golden Dawn system. Here the author goes to their sources and brings the art into the modern era - explaining the complex system in a way that is clear, concise and logical - as well as expanding the general knowledge on the subject. The sections which explain it in its astrological context are particularly clear and well written.I'd recommend this to anyone seeking a genuine art of divination which has roots in the Renaissance, Arabic and African systems and for people looking to expand their knowledge on the system. The book includes an insightful and witty (as ever) introduction by Lon Milo Duquette - who makes the observation that Greer is like a renaissance mage transported through time - to teach this art in a clear and practical way in order such that it can be used. There are also good sections on using the geomantic figures on Talismans, in Ritual, in practical magic and using them as astral doorways and associated Skrying practices. The readers who aren't familiar should note the 'Geomancy' described here is not ley line hunting, feng shui or earth magic based as the term is sometimes used, but refers to a Renaissance divination system using 16 figures - which were often drawn in the ground with a stick (Hence 'geomancy'), which can be tied into astrology.

Read this book immediately after seeing it on youtube - amazing book could not put it down. Very easy to understand and is now so much a part of my tarot journey , easy book to pop in your bag as not too heavy like some books out there.

The book is a great source of knowledge for the Geomancer
The book is a great source of knowledge for the Geomancer. I have read all the books available on Geomancy and I think this is the most comprehensive one. So far I own 2 of these in my collection.Thank you
