I bought these for myself. They are thin, light and easy to wash. What I really like is they do not take up much space in your kitchen cupboard. I dropped a couple of the pieces on accident, but they did not chip or break. They work well in the microwave when heating up food. I really like using these dishes for myself & serving family & friends.

These bowls are a great hybrid between a bowl and a plate. They are sturdy and durable like all Corelle dishware. The weight is just right, not too heavy but doesn’t feel delicate either. We use them for things like burrito bowls. Very functional and should last a long time.

The square dinnerware is a great platform for formal, special dining, special occasion, dinners, lunches! Food displays beautifully on the white background. Just change tablecloth, riders and napkins to set a completely different look for each occasion. We have had the round white dinnerware for 37 to 39 years and the only pieces showing where are the plates that are used in oven and in the dishwasher, all the rest look brand new! Highly recommended. The least expensive being sold, because of how long it lasts, and looks new. Also, it’s nice to know if you want more pieces you just go buy some. For every day round, and square for special occasions and holidays! Makes it fun to cook and entertain.Now that we’ve had these for a little while, we love them for single serving soup and large salad. I now have 12 of these and will use them for salad or pasta meal bowls or even chili or soup. They are 1 quart but they don't appear to be a giant bowl so if you are expecting a big square bowl, you may be disappointed. I suspect that a lot of people make that mistake and return them and I've been able to purchase mine as like new-used for a discount because I suspect people order thinking it's a bigger bowl and then turn around and send them right back in the same package which is how all of mine appeared to have come, someone opened, thought, too small, and then returned them. The square bowls do seem smaller than the round bowls but it's a matter of volume calculations. They do the side dish serving job just as well as the round versions of the 1 quart bowls, it's just a slightly smaller than 8 inch square instead of an 8.5 inch round circle. It's Corelle functionality in a more interesting shape.

We have a set of Corelle square dinner plates, and they're huge. Those are now relegated to platter status, and we use these for almost everything. Plain white, sleek design, they look nice. They're also pretty durable. However, if you should have the misfortune to break one (very difficult to do unless you drop it from six feet up and hit something sharp on the way down) they will shatter into a zillion bits. These are really popular with the RV crowd because they're tough, and easy to clean. Just make sure the cabinets are really securely shut.

Corelle dishes are the work horses in a household! They can take abuse better than any other dishes. I love these square plates and use them constantly. They're the perfect size plate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their slightly sloped design works well with most home menu items and nearly eliminates the use for bowls. They've become the most used dishes at our house. These are long-lasting, tough and well worth the price.

Although these are listed as serving bowls, we use these as dinner bowls for pastas and such. They complement the other square Corelle dinnerware I bought to use in our camping trailer. The square shape makes them take up less room in the cabinet.
