Crystal clear audio and a balanced sound.
These are an amazing set of headphones and are a steal for the price. The build quality is great for being an all-plastic construction. It comes with 2 cables: a straight one and a coiled one both terminating in a 3.5mm audio jack. The cable end which goes into the left headphone cup is a proprietary connector. Both are great stock cables with no micro-phonics while playing audio. The sound is balanced and they are not hard to drive. They are easily powered by my laptop's 3.5mm audio jack. I will be testing them with an AMP/DAC combo and will update my review regarding how they scale with amplification. They are amazingly comfortable and offer an amazing sound for casual and critical listening. 10/10 would recommend. Edit: I received my DAC/AMP combo (Topping DX3 Pro Plus). The HD400 Pros have scaled amazingly well with the amplification and have benefitted immensely from the clean signal coming from a quality ESS chip inside the DAC. I was unsure about the gains that I would be getting from the DAC/AMP over the laptop jack, but after using it, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. It has been an eye opening experience.

One of the best studio monitors at the price
These circumaural/over the ear headphones have a flat sound perfect for studio use. Designed around the venerable Sennheiser HD 250 Pro Linear monitors these are a set of headphones recommended for studio use or critical sound analysis only. Sound is far easier on the ears than the A-T M40x/M50x with comfort level that is head and shoulders above that experienced with the A-Ts. The A-T M70x are excellent monitors but I would prefer the Sennheisers over them any day. Sound - 5 stars, relatively flat, bland, but revealing. They take time to open up, a good 24-48 hours of use. These are not bright nor do they have boosted bass like the A-T monitors. They are easy on the ears both sound and comfort wise and makes me understand why Sennheiser pro monitors are one of the most popular with professionals. Construction - 4 stars, plastic all around but very good quality plastic. Not a single creak or noise during use. These are made in Ireland, like many of Sennheiser's high end headphone products including the HD 600/650 and initial batches of 660s which are now made in Romania. The top end HD 700/800/800s/820 are made in Germany. You get a detachable (with a torx screw driver) straight cable which is only about 1.5 m (approx. 5 ft long) and this I believe is a key short coming compared to the A-T M pro monitor range which come with 2-3 cables depending on the model. Comfort - 5 stars, very comfortable ear pads that accommodate even large ears. These are such a pleasure to use compared to most A-Ts. Sennheiser's after sales support is second to none, having experienced it for myself over the 11+ years that I have owned the HD 650 and subsequently several other Sennheiser products. This makes recommending the HD 300 Pro very easy. Highly recommended. If you want a less expensive monitor consider the very good VFM HD 280 Pros which have comparatively brighter sound and are aimed squarely at the A-T M40/M50x.

Great Closed Back Studio Headphones
I have been using HD 300 Pro for over a month now and I love these headphones. They have a great flat EQ. Audio sound true to the original mixes. Amazing Headphones, provides a great sense of sound staging. Low end seems to drop out a little below 50hz when using with a phone. But overall a very well balanced EQ. Work great on a higher volume. They’re very comfortable too. Can work with them for long hours. The limitation in my pov is that to detach the cable you need a torx head screwdriver. Cable isn’t coiled throughout but has small 3-4 coils. The box in which these came was broken.@amazon There’s passive noise cancellation on these which is decent enough for you to record vocals. Overall, really good studio headphones, which is great for monitoring and mixing too.

Sound Quality
In first impression I surprised with the performance and sound . I used ath m50 and hd 600 but this headphone is insane at this price range and also too lightweight. Build quality is not so better than hd 600 but in term of sound so flat frequency . You will get neutral sound and stereo image experience for best results in mixing and mastering . Don't think about this product reviews go and buy this product .

Great, except for the short cable
I bought this as a replacement to my Sennheiser HD380 pro which started sounding weird all of a sudden (after 4 years of use). Very happy with the sound and comfort. But the cable is annoyingly short in my opinion. Unless the interface or headphone amp that you plug these into is right next to you, you'll need an extension cable.

Clean Sound with decent bass for an open backs
Clamping force is bit high. Very flat sounding. Soundstage : 4/5 Imaging : 4/5 Treble : 5/5 Bass : 4/5 Mids : 5/5 Non-fatiguing with clean sound. My laptop couldn't drive them fully so I bought Moondrop Dawn Pro DAC/Amp and now they're loud enough.

Almost perfect
Great for home studio. Learning curve to mixing on these, ears get hot but otherwise an ok product. Gumming is coming off within two months. Sound is clear

Saves me from using my monitors when using my synthesizers in my studio, they are great when used with a mixing console, great for music production. Read the manual if you are thinking about using these headphones for listening to music on your mobile phone or any other portabe device it tells you not to do it!!!!!!!!!!

The Sennheiser HD 400 Pro is the best Sennheiser headphone I own. The sound is clear with great definition. The vocals are awesome. Instruments are easy to pick out of the mix. The sound seems natural with plenty of low end. So far I haven't detected any distortion. I bought them for listening but they might be great for mixing as well. The only complaint is they are tight on my head. After two-hour sessions, I didn't experience fatigue. I wanted to keep listening.

Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Great sound and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Definitely the cleanest monitoring headphones I've used, no colouration from what i could tell. The fit is good, not too tight, and the passive isolation is fantastic. The addition of the limiter to protect your hearing is a good idea but I think I will not keep this option on all the time. All in all, more than I wanted from a pair of monitoring headphones.
