Helpful, but light
This is a useful book. Readers will recognize people they know of this type (possibly even themselves). It's a small book (highly readable in about an hour), but not very detailed. Readers may want greater detail than this book provides, about all kinds of situations. The book did cover a good variety of situations (strengths, weaknesses to work on, relationships, career, etc.), but certainly there could be more detail provided about all of them. Also, I'll note, the cover photo really does this personality type no justice! ESTP is the MOST dynamic and flamboyant of the 16 MBTI types! A veritable circus ringmaster, a daredevil movie star, etc.-- who may well be an entrepreneur ALSO-- but the photo of the guy sitting alone, cross-legged on a sofa definitely does not represent this personality! (But don't judge this book by its cover; the content is pretty good and helpful, just very light.)The strength of this book is it does characterize several facets of this personality type; though sometimes it almost feels like reading just a fortune cookie.I would say the single weakest part of this book is the last section, which summarizes several famous people, purportedly of this personality type. It's great to have attempted this list, but the one-paragraph biographies of those individuals are extremely sparse, and the reader may already know that much and more about those individuals. In a future edition of this book, more detail should be provided about those biographies especially (in addition to all chapters of this book). (Also, I noted a few factual errors in those biographies, as if someone had typed them off the top of their head, without researching those people at all; the specific erroneous facts are not such a big deal, but the lack of detail about those very intriguing individuals is.)Again, I did find this book to be helpful, although more detail would be more helpful.NOTE: Having now read 3 books in this series by this author (ISTJ, ESTP, and ISTP), I am upgrading my review to 4 stars. Yes, each one definitely could provide a lot more detail, including specific dialogs, better biographies of the famous people listed, etc.; but as part of a series (which seems uniformly consistent), each booklet gains value via comparisons with other books in the series. Further, I like the fact that there is a separate booklet for each personality type, rather than one large book encompassing all 16 types, because it's much easier to compare a few booklets side-by-side than to thumb through a large book and hold various pages at once. So I’m awarding 3 stars each as a stand-alone book, and a 4th star in context of the series.
