Great product, with some minor issues
This contraption is pretty cool. It forces you to brush up against the ball, creating topspin. You can learn some topspin technique and develop muscle memory using this product. It feels nice to hit. There are a few problems, however. I think it would be better if the plastic arms and attached sail could be removable, as not everyone likes to hit the ball with such a brushing motion. Also, the fixed nature of the side arms and attached sail prevent you from practicing other types of swings (e.g. flat shots, slice, volleys, etc.) Some players, even top professionals, hit out through the ball a bit more, in which case the racket would be banging up against the side brackets each time. For example, if Federer hit a one handed backhand on this, the racket would hit the sides on the follow through. When you watch videos of players from the side, you can see that not all the strokes would work for this product. This would not be a problem if we had the option of removing the side brackets and sail, but alas, it is fused in and unremovable. Another problem is that the rubber band that holds the arm in place wore down pretty quickly. After a weekend of use, the rubber band wore down and broke. There was only one extra band provided. I wrote the website for the company to request additional bands, and initially, there was no response. If you want additional bands, you can order similar looking bungee cords from Amazon, and tie them yourself to replace. Still, it is a lot of hassle, when they can just provide you with a bunch of extra bands, fairly cheaply. I also bought the Eye Coach. The Eye Coach is fairly versatile, and you can practice many different kinds of swings on it. However, the swing arm on the Eye Coach is fairly heavy, and it causes some stress on your arm to hit it repeatedly. By comparison, the Topspin Pro has a lighter swing arm, and feels very satisfying to hit. Furthermore, the spinning mechanism on the Topspin Pro is much smoother, so you can see the topspin much better, and adjust your swing accordingly. The Topsin Pro is also much quieter to hit. When you hit the Eye Coach, it is quite loud, and you can hear people banging away on it from upstairs. However, they both have their uses. I should note that I initially wrote a worse review for the Topspin Pro, due to the problem with the bands, and lack of customer response. I was impressed that recently, the inventor of the device wrote me a personal email to apologize for the oversight, and he assured me he would take care of the problem. He reports that the band problem has been fixed, and the material used is now much more durable. They are also looking into updating the design in the future based on customer feedback.

Well Designed self home training device, the best in the market.
The build quality is surprisingly good-all metal stand pieces are grind and polished. I would say it is a little price but still the best choice in the market. It is very easy to use, and really helpful to shape your hitting action. One thing I would like to mention is that when you hit the ball not in the sweet zone, it is possible to damage your racquet from hitting the metal arm attached to the ball, maybe manufacture could add some soft protection on that area.

Good Training Aide
Topspin Pro is a great teaching aide forcing a correct swing path to generate topspin on the ball. Of course a proper grip also plays a roll in this as well. It's easy to use and gives immediate feedback as to whether your getting it right or not. For most people who understand the fundamentals involved, will probably only need to work with this for a few weeks before moth balling it into a closet somewhere or loaning it out to someone needing help. And that to me is the "con" with this tool. For the cost it should allow other full strokes thereby allowing year round stroke work to occur. That would be very productive.

Tremendous help!
This is a game changer. I heard about this on Youtube videos, and I was a bit skeptical, but seeing the reviews, I decided to chance it, and what a great chance I took. I've never been able to get topspin on the ball - even when I tried switching a Western grip, so I figured this would help. I even tried mimicking my backhand process when hitting a forehand, since I get topspin on my backhand, and that didn't work. I played with it for a week, eventually switching from W to SW after noticing I was having more success with that grip. But it also helped fix 2 other issues - 1 that I know is an issue but I couldn't adapt to the fix, and the other I didn't realize was an issue until I got this machine. Issue 1: I always hit off my back foot. I know about it and could never change. Since this is meant to be placed in front of you, it wouldn't allow me to hit off my back foot, and I adapted to leaning into the ball. Issue 2: My strike zone was off. I would hit the balls about waist high or slightly higher. This says to set it up so the ball is at your pocket, which is about hip level. Again, after about a week, I adapted to that, which I never knew was an issue. Did some drills after using that and the instructors (who had no idea I used this) were talking about how good my ground strokes were. They know now though.

Works well, except for the spare pin/piece...
Love this topspin pro. It works very well. Only complain I have is about the replacement piece/pin while practicing, the pin tends to fall off easily. Unless one is watching very closely, it is very difficult to be able to find it. Given that the equipment comes with a single spare, I don't know what to do if I ever lose the last pin i have. Edit: I edited this to lower my rating to a '2'. The device is useful, however, it does keeps loosing the pin atleast once every month. Currently being used only by my son. The pin at the very end of the rod that holds the ball keeps coming off. It is very difficult to locate, sometimes we find it, and once we did not and I have already used my spare and we haven't even had this for 3 months. I have not seen this complaint from others, makes me think that I may have gotten a defective piece. (this is not the bungee i am talking about).

Great training tool; well made, easy to assemble. Use and results are more subtle at intermediate and advanced levels but there nonetheless, whereas for newbies or lower level players cause and effect are far more apparent.

Tveksam nytta med den träningen tycker jag. Kanske mer nytta för riktiga nybörjare.
