No BS. Just the chord diagrams.
If you need to learn new voicings for jazz chords and you are an intermediate player who already understands chord theory and you can digest material like this without thinking you have to conquer the entire thing, this book is for you. Not all of the voicings are practical, or even playable, honestly, and if you don’t know how chords are formed and how they work in functional harmony, this book won’t be super helpful. But if you know what you need and what you can do with it, this book is super.

More chord shapes than you'll know what to do with
I bought this at the behest of my guitar teacher, mainly as a reference source. Latarski catalogs a large number of chord shapes for a large number of chord types, particularly jazz chords. The book provides only minimal guidance on how to use the material, which makes it seem like it's meant to be used in conjunction with lessons and not by itself. Of course, if you're already an intermediate or advanced guitarist, the large number of options it provides will enable you to add more color and variety to your chord progressions. The main point that's missing from the intro material is that it's often not necessary to use the complete fingering of a given chord shape. Omitting some of the strings can make some of the almost unrealistically finger-busting shapes much more playable.

This group of books written by Don are my favorite guitar theory books. Practical and straight forward , if you are sick of books you're using pick these they are highly educational for taking your playing to a higher level or for intermediate to advanced to even begining teaching.
