This is the right wall-mounted quiet heater
Was looking for a decent wall-mounted heater to raise the temperature in a mudroom. Not to make it toasty hot, just a nice transition from inside to outside or back. I'm as cheap as they come, so I first bought one of those "Amaze" heaters off of woot for literally less than half of the price of this. Boy should I have minded the reviews. That thing smells like manure. Like, literally. And it smells for a long time (according to reviews; I didn't dare to experiment for more than three days). Also it takes a minute to see that that thing is built to a very different quality standard than the usual. The mounting template is misaligned. (Really? That hard to make four signs on a piece of cardboard?) The contacts are shoddy. There's no safety. And did I mention it smells like manure. Really. Would you have your little children be every day around a hot plate made of some God-awful chemical that smells like manure for half the price? No, Sir. It took me a while before I found this, mainly because (a) there were several cheaper options, and (b) I misjudged from the photo that the Envi has a fan inside. (It doesn't.) I have zero brand loyalty and am skeptical of the whole "American-built" thing but boy I got to admit there is something to it at least in this case. This thing is /designed/, meaning there were people thinking of how to make it good and make it right. It's slim. Bit of Apple-inspired roundness. It just looks good on the wall in a way that a manure-smelling hot plate can't. It has a real adjustable thermostat (which you'd NEED to buy with the manure). It doesn't get hot on the side so kids can walk by it and touch it. It has a nice on/off button and a discreet operational light. Careful: the device has a switch that prevents operation unless mounted. To test it before mounting I inserted the pinky in one of the mounting holes and felt a mechanical switch. Don't do the same or at least don't hold me liable. The wall above the heater DOES warm up because of the hot air circulating upward. So we had to move e.g. a key holder away. It would be a good idea to have at least a couple feet of empty wall above the heater. No problem at all just a bit on the side. Regarding power and those who were disappointed: folks, this is a 500W unit. It can't heat as much as a 1500W unit or whatever. For a 500W unit this performs just as expected. Recommended if you want something that you can walk by everyday and be content with the choice.

My ONLY heat! 1860 home!
I have to defend these heaters for their quality and efficiency. I own 9 of these and they are my only heat source in an old 1860's 3 story house. I will say before we upgraded some of our insulation, they worked overtime to keep the temperature at 67 during winter here in upstate ny. When the air is wet and cold in the single digits we can barely keep it at 66 to 67. That being said, our home still has wall insulation rated R13 instead of R21 which is the lowest recommended insulation for our area. The outside walls have not been wrapped properly either. Once we upgraded 2 large areas, these little guys pulled their weight and we achieved 70 degrees easily with single digits temps. Extremely easy to install. Safe and durable. I have owned mine for 4 years. Lightweight. Quiet design. I have heard about clicking noise being bothersome, but I am a light sleeper and don't have trouble with mine. The power bill is not too bad but is hard to gage because our power company charges keep increasing. UPDATE! 2025 2026 winter. I have recently paid 20,000 dollars to rewire my entire home. There were many heaters which were not working as effectively because they were not on a designated line. Since the rewire, they are far more efficient. Recent temperatures were 60 mile gusts, 16 degrees with feel like temps of 6 degrees. My home is 71 degrees. Just FYI. Check your wires, or outlet loads.

Meets expectations
Works good for what it is, keep in mind it is only 500 watts. I put this in a 15 foot camper to keep it above freezing. On highest setting it keeps camper about 20 degrees above outside temperature. Instructions say to run on highest setting for 48 to 72 hours. After 3 days on high the top of unit was a bit hot, uncomfortable to touch but not hot enough to cause concern. I pulled the unit off the wall and measured about 125 degrees on the back of the unit. It appears to be a very safe design and I now feel confident that heater can be safely operated 24/7. There isn't much of a thermostat on it so maybe not the best choice if precise control is important but it is a good little booster heater. If it had a good thermostat I would have rated 5 stars but still a very good heater. I would definitely buy it again.

Easy to install, works with WiFi smart outlet
Out house has a basement bedroom that is far colder (8-10 degrees) than the rest of the house. If I warm it to a comfortable temperature using our regular house furnace, the rest of the property gets too hot. So, I bought a small fan heater - it worked, but it didn't allow the room to be warmed early in the morning (when someone is still asleep) because the fan is very loud. So, I bought this 500W wall-mounted convection heater. The main reasons for choosing this one were: (i) should be silent; and (ii) it has a pushbutton on/off switch so, by leaving the heater's switch in the "on" position, it should work with a WiFi smart outlet. It took me about 10 minutes to mount to the wall, using the template that is built into the packaging. Plugged it into a WiFi smart outlet. Pushed the heater switch to "on", and turned the thermostat knob all the way to the right. Within moments, I could feel heat rising from the top vents. Bottom line: it works extremely well. It's almost completely silent (I can hear a vague hum when I put my ear next to it, but can't hear a thing normally). I set the smart switch to turn it on at 5AM, so the room is warm when the occupant gets up. Also - for people who prefer a VERY dark bedroom - it has a rather bright red indicator light at the top-right, but it automatically dims in a dark room. All in all, it's a definite 5 stars from me. I'm posting this in May 2025; I'll come back to edit this review if any problems arise.

Don't do it.
I give 0 stars but I had to give one star in order to submit this review. This "heater" was a complete waste of money and the time it took to install it. I turned it on high at 5pm yesterday evening so the bathroom (which is 8'x12',btw) would be warm by the time I took a shower. The bathroom was not warm by 830. It was 69 degrees in the bathroom, and the rest of the house was 67 degrees. Three and a half hour on high for a two degree difference. And here's the kicker- after I installed it, I turned it on, turned the dial all the -clockwise- went outside to burn several big boxes and thinking that the heater was good to go, I burned that box as well (I put my hand over the vent and the air coming out was warm not hot, but told myself that it just needed a minute to heat up). I am mad at myself for buying this heater. An ugly one from the dollar store that actually worked would be a huge improvement. *the heater is installed correctly. I followed the instructions word for word. The bottom of the heater is 17" from the floor. There is a 1/4" gap between the heater and the wall. The outlet the heater is plugged into works. There is nothing in the bathroom that is plugged into an electrical that would interfere with the performance of the heater. One electric toothbrush and that's it. And it's not plugged into the same receptacle as the heater. I've been through the troubleshooting page of the manual several times. The bottom line is that I will be going to the dollar store to buy a cheap heater that works. Don't say you weren't warned. This the first product review I've ever written after years, and a small fortune, of buying from Amazon.

Silent, efficient and child-safe. It's perfect!
We bought two of these almost a year ago. One for each bedroom. We decided to splurge and purchase these after my sister had one in my dad's bedroom. Seeing how wel, safe and easy it worked we bought these to replace our space heaters. Space heaters are noisy, drain lots of power, are potentially more dangerous and clutter floor space. These wall heaters must be mounted in our to work but can easily be removed and only need two screws in the wall. They are sleek and nice looking and do not get hot to the touch. When we changed over from our nightly space heater usage to these which we keep on the lowest setting for our small bedrooms, we noticed that our power bill was less! They may be a fair bit more expensive than space heats but I think they are better in so many way that it makes up for the price difference. We have 3 kids in one room ages 8 and 6 year old twins. The room is average size, not particularly big. The other room we use it in is our bedroom which is very small. We never set the heaters higher than the lowest setting and it warms the room up fully in about 30 minutes. Perfect for over night use. There are no numbers or temperatures on the heater so you can't really control the specific temperature. you just have to test it out a few days to know what works best for you. I have seen that you can get a thermostat to plug the heater into which will shut off the power to the heater whe it hits a certain temperture and then turn power back on when the temperature drops below that setting. This wasn't necessary for us.

Not as effective as expected. Not as “dead quiet” as advertised.
We purchased the 1000-watt model for a bedroom of about 120 square feet to avoid using noisy central air at night. Unfortunately, the heater did not meet our expectations, and given its high price, it was not worth the purchase. Here’s a closer look at our experience: DESIGN AND QUALITY The heater has a stylish and sturdy design with a high-quality feel. Inside, there is a compartment to neatly hide an extra power cord—a thoughtful touch. INSTALLATION Installation was very simple. All it took was a screwdriver and about 10 minutes to mount it securely on drywall. FUNCTIONS We opted for the model with a rotary thermostat, as we didn’t see the need to pay extra for a display and timer. Instead, we paired it with a Tapo smart plug featuring energy monitoring, which works excellently as a timer and tracks energy consumption. However, the engineers made a baffling decision regarding the power indicator. While it shows whether the power is on, it doesn’t indicate if the heater is actively heating or in standby mode—there is no heating/standby indicator. On the other hand, they did include a twilight sensor that dims the power indicator in the dark, which seems unnecessary. EFFICIENCY Our goal was to maintain a temperature of 68–69°F in the basement bedroom at night so we could avoid using the central air system. At its maximum thermostat setting, the heater performs as expected, but only when outdoor temperatures aren’t too cold. When temperatures drop below 30°F, it struggles to keep up and fails to deliver adequate heating. COMFORT OF USE The advertising promises “dead silence,” but that’s an overstatement. While it is quiet compared to fan heaters, the thermostat makes a loud clicking sound when it turns on and off, which is far from silent. Additionally, there are blue flashes visible inside during this process. After a few months of use, the heating element developed a faint but noticeable hum, similar to the sound of high-voltage power lines.

Easy to setup, silent, efficient, stylish wall heater
The Envi wall heater has been a great addition to our home. We put our first Envi heater in a room that stays colder than the rest of our home in the winter, and it has helped to keep the room comfortable. Compared with a space heater, the Envi wall heater does not take away any space in the room since it mounts on the wall and is thin. Also, it runs silently--all the heat with none of the sound! Having no moving parts means there is no filter to clean, and from what I can tell, the way it is designed seems to be as energy efficient as possible for an electric heater. And the design is attractive--not something I feel like needs to be hidden in a nice home. Attached is a photo of our newly installed heater from Amazon along with a video showing me unboxing and installing the heater. Since this was my second Envi heater to install, I felt confident with making a video from start to finish. When I installed the first heater, I thought there was a bit of marketing hype to claim that it "installs in minutes." When I went to install my first heater, I gathered the normal tools…a level, tape measure, drill, screwdriver, etc. But then I was pleasantly surprised to find that the box insert doubles as an installation template that rests against the wall and floor. That means NO level and NO tape measure is required. Also, the drywall in that room was only a few years old, and the included drywall anchors went right into the wall like butter with a cordless screwdriver…NO pre-drilling needed. It was really fast and easy to get the two mounting clips into the wall in the perfect position. From there, the heater just hangs on the two mounting clips for a level, flush-to-the wall installation. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist. Having a long power cord dangling from the wall or tied up next to the heater is unsightly. But they thought of everything…any extra power cord length can be pushed back into the cavity where the cord comes out of the heater, which just leaves the exact length needed to reach the power outlet. And the power cord has a right-angle plug, so the cord rests neatly against the wall instead of sticking out from the wall. There are also electrical punch-out holes on the back of the heater for people who want a direct wired heater with no exposed outlet. The only thing I learned while installing this new heater (which you can see in the attached video) is that this heater was installed in an older home, and the drywall is extremely hard compared with my first installation. If I were to install the heater again, I would just pre-drill the two holes before screwing in the wall anchors. Other than that, installation went smoothly with no surprises. The Envi heater draws up air from the floor and outputs a steady stream of silent heat out the top of the heater. The thermostat lets the heater run when needed and automatically turn off when your room is at or above your desired setpoint. The top vent is angled slightly outward, so the wall above and behind the heater stays at a temperature that is still comfortable to touch. And the front of the heater stays even cooler during operation, so I don't worry about a child or pet getting unpleasantly surprised if they touched the heater while it is in operation. It is easy to set and forget! Here's to a more comfortable room!

Great heater!
There was no heat in my bathroom. I had to find something that was easy to install and wasn't a portable one. This thing is GREAT! It screws to the wall and plugs in to the wall plug. I was worried about it throwing the breaker, but it doesn't. The bathroom is small and it heats it very well. In fact, it is set on the lowest setting and is never turned up any higher unless it is in the winter and I will turn it up a bit before I have a shower. On it's lowest setting, it isn't running non-stop in the winter. It is the perfect little heater!

Quiet but not enough heat for open area maybe best for a closed room
It is nice and quiet but not a lot of heat for a room that has high ceilings.

Great Unit!
We purchased this wall heater for our 10' x 15' Boot Room. It came quickly, packaged well with great instructions (I did find the tutorial of installing helpful for those handy "tips") We were going to hardwire it in, but then chose to use the simple plug in - really liked that the "extra cord" can be tucked inside the unit leaving a clean look. The install itself was simple for one person (thanks to the handy template!). It looks great on the wall, is cool to the touch and whisper quiet! I like the added confidence that if it is somehow comes off the wall it will automatically shut off. Worth the purchase!
