Wool blend blanket
I have this for my emergency/camping stuff. This is a wool blend and it feels pretty good. For the price you can't beat it.

My Blanket was completely fine
I got it for My puppy dog because it was cheap and I didn't mind if it got destroyed.Take Negative reviews as you will, people will always complain. That being said my Blanket didn't come with any offending smells, it didn't smell much like anything.I wore it around the house to break it in with my smell for my dog and the Blanket was pretty soft. Not fleeecy soft but soft enough that it felt like wearing a t-shirt.60 wool 40 poly blend. I didn't/don't plan to wash it, who washes wool anyway?

Decent
Would like it more if 100% wool but it is comfortable

Good for camping
Bought this to put on our air mattress. The air mattress always feels so cold camping and i wanted something to put over it that would help keep the bed warm. This helped a lot, i will need to purchase another to lay on the second air mattress.

It smells like it was soaked in fuel or chemicals.
The fuel/petrol smell was strong enough that I went back to inspect the box to see if there were any signs of something leaking into the box during shipping, but there was nothing wrong with the box. I will try washing one to see if the smell goes away.UPDATE: I tried washing to remove the smell but even after multiple washes, the smell remains mildly noticeable. However, the downside of washing is that it sheds a lot of fibers. I scooped about a tennis ball size clump from the surface of the washing machine water during the post-wash soak and had to empty the dryer filter 5 times during drying. It now has a rough/fuzzy surface, but the smell no longer transfers off to your hands when you touch it.I still have no idea if the smell was some failed attempt at applying some fireproofing chemical or whether it might have been intended to serve some anti-pesticide function similar to mothballs, but it wasn't due to some accidental spill of fuel oil because it is consistent across the entire surface of the blankets. Whatever it is, it was intentionally and evenly applied and both of the 2 blankets that I ordered smelled identical despite being in separate plastic bags.I have no idea if the unknown chemical carries any health implications because there was no information in the package or in the advertisement that might suggest what the chemical is.

I really got burned on this
So, it's my own fault for not reading these reviews, but I figured the blanket would be good enough. It's not, though. Usually cheap military blankets are thin and.. not very warm. This is incredibly thick. Thick to the point of being kind of clunky. I really just wanted some cheap fabric, not a blanket. As a blanket, you probably can't complain. However, as fabric, it's horrible. This is called "shoddy" nonwoven in the biz. It's all sorts of scraps needled together as one would make felt. This is how you make the insulation in your car, or for hidden batting in furniture. It's not "smooth", like lots of little bits of wool would be carded together. This is chunks of wool fabric pulled apart and smashed back together. In more colorful terms, this is a fabric made from fabric vomit.

Strong and warm
This is a quality blanket for industrial purpose like putting in your car for a picnic or emergencies. It is heavy and sturdy. It is not a comfort blanket you would want on the couch but if you were camping or stuck out in the cold, it would do the trick.
