I have been researching pet backpacks for some time now. The two biggest things I was looking for is a backpack with mesh vents and a backpack that kept its shape. A lot of backpacks I've seen elsewhere will sag at the bottom once a pet is in it which doesn't seem too comfortable for the pet. This keeps its shape really well and bottom of the bag seems very sturdy to prevent that sagginess from happening. It's comfortable to wear and relatively spacious on the inside. I think a larger in length cat could still be relatively comfortable in the backpack if they were curled up. I do like that it has a top opening as well as a front opening. We will usually keep the backpack out in our living room with that front opening open and she actually will go in there willingly to nap throughout the day. The bedding on the inside is very soft and it's a thick enough pad that it seems like it would be comfortable for any pet. The ventilation is nice and seems to help keep my cat cool and she also likes that she can see outside from most angles. Overall, really solid backpack. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a x-small - small sized dog and probably most if not all cat breeds. Maine coons might have some issues fitting but I know cats tend to be pretty okay at curling up into smaller spaces relatively comfortably. It's comfortable to wear and has supportive back padding. I've walked around in it for about 2 hours and didn't feel like it was causing any strain or discomfortI do want to note that I got this for my kitten, and she is currently about 4 lbs; so, I wouldn't be able to endorse its sturdiness for larger pets.

I looked at so many different backpacks over many weeks and finally decided on this one. My 4lb 4month old kitty Lilly and I love it! She immediately started playing inside it when I set it down. It is so sturdy, it can hold her weight after her climbing all over it. It also has put up with her claws and teeth after tons of clawing, climbing and chewing! It is the perfect size for her too, she can lay down, spin around and stand up on her hind legs and look out the top. There’s definitely great ventilation with all the mesh. So I don’t have to worry about her not getting enough air. The real test, with her inside and walking around for about a mile. This backpack was so comfortable on my back. Not only does it keep its shape, it kept her inside and safe. This backpack is just great!

So sturdy! So cute, well made, and great ventilation. Easy to use and such a great option for transportation with your pet. Great for senior pets too! My 14 lb older poodle Bichon loves it! Wont hurt your back like the other bags ive tried.

NEW UPDATE: my older update is down below. So We've had this backpack for almost 2 years now and despite its shortcomings, its the best hiking/pet carrier we have used so far. We have tried so many backpacks since purchasing this one trying to find the perfect solution for traveling and hiking with our bengal and have discovered there really is no perfect backpack but this one is the closest we've found. So I'm changing my review back up to 4 stars because the bruising on my lower back from the hard bottom and lack of pockets is still annoying, but the customer service was great and overall the backpack has been very sturdy and withstood all the abuse we've put it through. Our bengal LOVES it and begs to nap it in and play in it constantly. The zipper breaking on the top lid was scary but hasn't happened since and closes again with no issue and the other zippers haven't shown any sign of wear. This is our go-to backpack and will continue being that for usWe really really enjoyed this backpack. We take our bengal kitten hiking with us and after struggling with regular backpacks, this seemed like a great option. The bag itself feels very sturdy. Hes a 12 pound cat (and still growing) and he had a good amount of space to lay down and nap during the hike and he really enjoyed being able to pop his head out to look around. The bag never felt like it was going to flex or bend under his weight. It was pretty breathable too. He never got overheated or uncomfortable.Cons: the bottom is made from a sturdy, tough material. Not necessarily a problem since I like that it holds his weight. The only problem is that it sits at the small of my back and definitely hurts after a long hike. I have a pretty sizeable bruise today. I'll be making a foam attachment to sew onto it in that spot so that its more comfortable for longer hikes. Also, I would've upped this to a 5-star review if it had pockets of some sort to hold his leash, some kibble, etc. Due to its large size, we're going to have to get creative with how we bring his essentials with us when hiking since I don't exactly want to wear two backpacks.All in all, were happy with the purchase and will just have to make some minor adjustments to the bag so that we can continue bringing out adventure cat with us.UPDATE!!:We've had this backpack for several months now and its had some issues. Having to sew padding for my lower back and making pockets was a minor inconvenience but on our second hike with our bengal, he jumped up to get a better view and snapped off the safety leash inside and jumped out, which is obviously terrifying when you're out in the woods with an excited cat. He didn't even really jump with that much force. I will say the company's customer service was awesome and sent us a new safety leash immediately that we sewed back in. Then the next time we used it we were hiking up a ladder so we closed the top and he was able to break the top-opening zipper just by pushing against it to look out. We cannot keep the upper zipper sealed now. We liked this bag a lot but are pretty disappointed and now I'm super scared to use it on a long hike in the event the bottom zipper gives out from his weight. He LOVES his backpack and will literally cry to nap inside of it but we've just bought a new backpack from YourCatBackpack and will have to see how that one holds up. This backpack feels sturdy but just doesn't make me feel confident anymore.

I needed a doggy backpack for my little Tuna, a 13lb. maltipoo, that is overly attached to me, while I work in our vineyard. Although, she sometimes loves to be independent and wild, she also loves danger. Recently she got a foxtail in her nose and ear during an early morning picking. I realized that the only way to keep her safe and happy this harvest season was to wear her 🤣I literally shot in the dark and based my purchase off of other reviews and am so thankful I did! The fit of this pack is perfect! The shoulder and waist straps are fully adjustable and sit right where they should, no digging in or bunching. It's not too heavy, even with her in it. Today, I was able to wear her for 1½ hours comfortably (it was our first trial and we only had to stop because of heat and a necessary water break). The construction is super sturdy even when she was moving around. The zippers are solid, too. I never felt as though she was going to escape or be injured, even with all of my movements. There is a nice length collar attachment that helps to hold her in securely, but also allows her to move around. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!

Needed a backpack suitable for carrying a small/medium dog on long hikes in case our pet tires out. This bag suits the job. Was well built and comfortable to carry and easy enough to manage. The zippers were great and sturdy. Tried it out right away when we received it, and backpack with dog did not weigh too much since the backpack straps were wide and comfortable and padded. The bag is more taller than wide. It helps as your arms are not hindered when walking. Overall, I highly recommend the bag due to its design and function.

6.9kgのミニシュナの為に購入しました。底も硬くしっかりした作りなので、リュックの中に入れても安定した感じでした。お座りした状態で入ってるので頭は出ません。リュックの中では少し狭そうですが、動ける空間がありすぎるよりはこのくらいが安心するのかなと思います。電車で約2時間利用したいのですが、電車内では横向きに置けば伏せ状態で寝れると思います。様子を見れる開閉窓もありますし中の息苦しさはないかと思います。以前は横長のリュック型キャリーで移動させてましたが、犬が動く度に左右に揺れる感じと窓部分が少ないのが気になり、新しくこちらを購入。以前のは約1万円で購入しましたが、こちらはその半額で良い買い物でした。比べても機能性は変わらない気がします。一つ気になったのは表部分中心に開閉窓があり、開けるとクルクルと巻いてマジックテープで止めるようになっていますが、そのマジックテープのトゲトゲの痛い方がリュック内側に付いています。犬の鼻が傷つくのが嫌なので取ってしまいました。
