Riedel Vinum Cognac Hennessy

These are ideal for whiskey. Beautiful and functional. About the same size/shape as a Glencairn glass, but better quality and I prefer the stem. (Riedel also makes an Akvavit glass, which is even closer to the Glencairn in shape, but it's hard come by). Unfortunately, they don't make anything like this glass in the hand-made Sommelier line. These are a bit heavier than the hand-built glasses, so are more durable, which might be a good thing if you're not super careful with your glasses. Also, these are LEAD FREE. I mention that because a lot of people seem to ask the question. The entire Riedel line from 2016 on is lead free, but there is still some older stock out there. The sticker on the glass says "crystal glass" which is their way of saying "no lead." Finally, these go through the dishwasher just fine, though you want to be careful that they don't bang up against anything, and you don't want to use too much soap. The dishwasher soap will probably etch the glass eventually if you wash them a lot. Riedel actually recommends a dishwasher over hand washing because it's actually much easier to break the glass when hand washing than in a dishwasher. I can attest to that from experience. I've never had one break in the dishwasher, but I've broken a couple of them when hand washing.

Riedel does it again. Even though after a lot of expensive experimenting, I exclusively use Riedel Vinum wine glasses, I held out buying their cognac glasses. I wish I had bought these sooner. They are stable, elegant and beautifully designed. The shape enhances the developing nose (aroma) of the cognac and feels wonderful in your hand. I think they are a perfect gift for cognac drinkers too.

Very beautiful glasses. The glass is perfectly clear and they have a clean ring when tapped. Both are identical and feel robust but look delicate. Really excelling quality when impressing your snobbish uncle with your fine collection of cognacs and schnapps.

I have the cognac and the whiskey glass, and want no others for these purposes. I suppose I could find an equally good glass for cognac (but not an inferior brandy style glass), but none better. … After owning many different whiskey glasses, I find this one to stand alone as the best tried for straight up whiskies. But contrary to some posters, I would not use the cognac glass for straight up whiskies. It concentrates too much the aromas coming off the whiskey to the nose.

I love these small cognac glasses. The fine thin crystal glass is both pretty and elegant. A perfect desert wine glass. I use them for serving port wine.

First Reidel purchase. Crystal quality is pure lead-free. Shape wafts "nose" and delivers full flavor at first sip, satisfying consumer demand for both form and function. Reidel glasses are additionally suitable for morning, non-alcoholic fruit smoothie blends to pair with a protein. These vessels should be used daily rather than collecting dust on a shelf.

These are perfect for port drinks. Classy stem, and the glass size is perfect. I even sand blasted a letter on it for a gift.

Cercavo dei bicchieri a tulipano perché mi erano stati suggeriti come ideali per il rum, dal momento che la forma tende a limitare l'effluvio di alcool e a anscondere meno le fragranze del prodotto. I Riedel mi erano ovviamente stati suggeriti come quelli di miglio qualità. Senza andare sul livello da sommelier (uno solo sarebbe costato quasi il doppio questa coppia), ho scelto questa tipologia, approfittando di un buon prezzo. Ottima fattura, fanno la loro figura esteticamente, e soprattutto mi sono sembrati robusti: un paio di urti occasionali sono stati gestiti molto bene.
