worked great for denim
i had a light wash denim jacket that i originally dyed with another brand and it came out blue, i decided to go with this brand for a second round as the reviews were solid. Denim jacket turned out DARK and it’s not a perfect color match but i like it tons better now. easy to follow directions. does bleed a bit for the first two washes but didn’t stain anything.

Works Exactly As Described
Follow the instructions on the bottle. Dye clean clothing in the hottest water from your taps & add 1tsp of dish soap. I let my clothes soak for 30 minutes. You don't need the colour setting product... just air dry.The black is super dark with a very slight hint of dark blue as the base of the dye. For best results, dye all your old black clothes.

This the better one from Rit Dye
I normally use this one just by removing cap and seal from the bottle and then placing it inside the washing machine drum, on top of the clothing, making sure it sits vertical. Then I add the right amount of salt and hot water via the soap dispenser or by pouring it directly on top of the clothing inside the drum. Start the hottest longest cycle (on a Bosch is "towels") and that is it. The bottle will empty itself after a couple of swirls and will mix with the water quickly and provide homogenous result. This will avoid making a mess on your soap dispenser, which is likely made of white plastic, it will stain and will take forever to clean up.No way i will put this thing trough the soap dispenser again, I did it once and took forever to remove the dye from it.Other than this the results are good; I wish the dye did not fade as fast as it does with the following washings though, since it starts to fade after 3 or 4 washings, even in cold water.
