Be As You Are Songs from An Old Blue Chair

Mostly laid back but sometimes silly
I was a big fan of Kenny's Lucky Old Sun album. I love the steel drums and island rhythms. Some of the songs on Be as You Are have that same feel. It's like lying in a hammock listening to the ocean breeze - relaxing and fun - an escape. I'm not sure what happened unless he just ran out of materital and started adding silly stuff but some of the songs just don't fit. I really don't like the Key Lime Pie song at all and French Kissing Life is pretty silly. A couple of really wonderful songs on this album are Something Sexy About the Rain and Be As You Are. Kenny Chesney has one of the best voices in country music and his love of the ocean and the islands is evident. This CD is good but I don't think I'd buy the whole thing again. I'd just pick the best songs for download. "He taught me how and he's still why there's something sexy bout the rain." Love you Kenny.

Well this is my third review, since I bought three, guess they are looking for me to really build up Kenny.
I have recently starting listening to Kenny Chesney. His music reminds me some of another artist that sings about boats, oceans and drinking, Jimmy Buffett. They deliver their music in a different way, but both tell stories of life living on boats or by the ocean, and having the past time of drinknig. With a past job I had I spent a lot of time in Florida, so I came to love the water and watching boats, so I have a love for both. Oh and I have had a couple of drinks along the way. I still hope to relocate in the next few years to be close to the water, not saying I will have a boat, but it would be nice to be able to watch them and sip on a crown or makers mark over some ice.

Kenney Chesney- 2004
Kenny's Island love really begins to emerge here. "Be As You Are" (the song) is such good advice for us all. Lose the pretense, relax, just be you. His "Old Blue Chair" will show up on later CD's and is a symbol of his "Island Boy" side. This CD is fun and original. His liner notes are really interesting and show us why the tropics mean so much to him and how a country boy from East Tennesee became so enamoured of the sea and it's slowed-down life style. A real good CD.

NEVER DISAPPOINT
Kenny my love, you never disappoint me with your music. Something Sexy About The Rain sends goosebumps all over my body. I can close my eyes & it feels like Kenny is right there with me in the rain. The song Magic is another sexy song that I can close my eyes to & imagine being in Kenny's arms dancing on a moonlit beach. His voice is so smooth when he sings Magic. There are always a few songs on every CD of his that I can relate to & bring tears to my eyes every time. Something about Soul of A Sailor touches an empty spot in me that bring tears every time I hear the song. I think it has to do with a soul being free & perhaps that is what I am looking for.

Be As You Are - Kenny Chesney
I’ve only really discovered Kenny Chesney recently but been a fan of country music for over 40 years! Gosh, I’m old! So I was amazed to see he has loads of CDs recorded! Each song tells a story, some are more upbeat and toe tapping but all are unique in Kenny’s own style!

Beatiful performed - The songs that carries you away to a Caribbean Paradise and makes you wish you can go right away.
It's an album filled with sunshine and feelgood music. Kenny Chesneys voice fills this paradise of sounds with good vibrations. All in all a nice album that is good for kicking back and relaxing after a working day. So I will definitely recommend this album. Kenny's warm voice is giving you a good felling when listening to this record and when the last track is played you just wish you could order a ticket and go to the Caribbean Sea and Saint John, and let your soul free from the daily toil and work. I believe this album, "Be as you are - Songs from An Old Blue Chair" is one of his best albums, but I'm excited to find out what he can offer us on his newest album that is being released in the end of April this year. "Life On A Rock". Anyway, listening to "Be As You Are" has made me a fan. So I will sample his music from now on. I wish Kenny all the best and hope he'll continue to make good music for all us fans. His gratitude and devotion to his fans is going to take him far, I think. I suppose he represent the dream in all of us to be successful and free, and to top that Kenny have the ability to put music and words to this dreams as well. That's Country Music in the making in my ears. Do I need to say more?

If you enjoy good country music "DO NOT BUY THIS" it's the worst thing i've heard in a VERY long time, so much so that i intend to take the hammer to my copy rather than sell it on as it is such a "STEAMING PILE OF CRUD".
