EverPaw Diabetes Blood Glucose Monitoring System for Pet Testing in Dogs and Cats, Complete Starter Kit

Hands down the worst monitoring tester ever!!!!!!! Buyers please beware-Yes, I know and have experience using these testers, as does bony vets and her experienced vet tech ( all 3- of which tried this when I brought in to office appointment, they agreed this is terrible-Do yourself a favor and purchase a different brand.( I normally don't leave comments, however this really needs to be know that the machine is JUNK-I know 1st hand how stressful it can be getting Glucose samples from our beloved babies, only to have this machine not poke (more than 1/2 of time) and the. When you fin have the blood, the machine only gives error, (yes has only tested 1x (who knows if that was accurate) had both my vets look/try it , same thing to them.. complete waste of money.

***UPDATE: Purchased a different machine because my dog was testing higher and higher, but acting normal -- there was a huge difference in readings from the same stick/drop of blood! I'm glad I didn't kill my dog with too much insulin since this machine was not accurate.***Have been using for about 6 months. The lancets with this device are impossible to use. In using, they either don't stick my dog, or making my dog yelp - no in between. I've purchased separate push button lancets (mckesson) that are a little more pricey, but effective. The strips are very sensitive. Once you touch the drop of blood, it registers in 5 seconds. If it is not enough even by one teeny tiny line on the strip, it won't read. Per 25 strip bottle, we probably waste 3 strips and have to re-stick our dog. I am starting to question it as my dogs blood sugar is reading higher and higher, but she's not acting abnormal like she does when it's high. Will probably purchase a 2nd machine of a different brand to ensure its accuracy.

I had some issues with the product before but thanks to OTC and Amazon who really stand behind it's products, they gave me proper advise and replaced some marginal test strips. They even sent a new test unit. It all works fine now and I'm happy with both the product and the manufacturer's support.

I thoroughly read all the instructional pamphlets/manuals, and even read various sections more than once, to try to fully understand how to operate the Everpaw Blood Glucose Monitoring System. However, the blood glucose monitor kept malfunctioning by not allowing any type of proper reading. Therefore, after spending numerous tries over a two day period, I have decided that the Everpaw System is not one I want to use on my beloved pet. The most disappointing (and frustrating) part I found with this time consuming ordeal, is that Everpaw LLC does NOT have a listed support service consumer phone number printed anywhere on its merchandise for immediate assistance by someone on your "support" team! Another problematic issue I also encountered is the too small type font (7 point?) on your printed instructional pamphlets. Even some one with decent eye vision would encounter problems reading the instructions.

It took time but I got the meter and amount of blood needed down. The original lancet device that came in with the package did not work but they're sending another, which is so helpful. I have to say all the costs involved with a newly diagnosed cat, this meter was so affordable and has helped us stay on track with insulin dose amounts!

Not bad if you can do the extra math to determine the BGL and have that sort of time. Meter strips produce constant error readings causing multiple testing to get one reading which adds stress to your pet. I went back to original, more expensive testing method for the safety of my pup.

For a general monitor for your dog or cat it works. If it throws some crazy number run a second or even third test as it's not always what I would call exactly consistent.

I want to give this higher stars because i really wanted it to work. I tried it at home and at the vets office. It does not poke deep enough to get blood out, I'm using needles the vet gave me that are thicker to be able to get enough blood. Once, I get blood on the reader, it needs a lot for it to even give a glucose reading resulting in only errors. Its stressful enough drawing blood, let alone having a reader that does not read it.
