An excellent choice.
So good, And it was in stock, And it shipped immediately so it was available to make my Thanksgiving Mince Pumpkin pies. My wife searched all over two towns to find mincemeat and had no success. In desperation, I turned to Amazon though I don’t usually buy foodstuffs there. And even Amazon had a dearth of choices available. In the end, this Crosse and Blackwell was the only option that promised one day delivery, As it turned out, it was a perfect choice for flavor and value. I would buy this again over any other choices now and will do so next November.

This is wonderful!
The word ‘meat’ in the name of this product throws some people. While in the Middle Ages it contained meat, this is more like chutney; sweet and delicious with complex fruit flavors. It can be used as a filling, a topping or even on toast! It’s a favorite in our house.

Just like Grandma's mincemeat pie
I've tried None Such Mincemeat filling and it's good, but kind bland. Cross & Blackwell is an explosion of flavor. The combination of sweet, spice and citrus was exceptional and the brandy was the cherry on top. I give it 10/10. I made it for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it and questioned if it was made from scratch.

Great product, good service.
Best ever pie filling if you are a mincemeat pie fan. Package arrived with one jar broken. What a mess! Seller responded immediately and sent a replacement which arrived quickly. Thank you for great service.

Expected better taste
I haven't had a mincemeat pie for several years. Sometimes you just have to... and I decided to take the easy route and purchase the mix in a jar. Mincemeat in jars wasn't available in any of the stores in my community. This one seemed rather pricey for what it was, but I figured the "rum" content was the reason for the high price. You would think a pie mix this expensive would cause you to pass out from the pleasure of eating it, but that wasn't the case. The taste was overly intense and also somewhat bitter. We tried making another pie by adding apples to the mincemeat to cut down on the strong flavor. That didn't work. It still turned out tasting bitter and very strong. I'm still a fan of mincemeat pie, but I'll never purchase this brand again. The price is outrageous and it didn't taste at all like the mincemeat I remember from years past.

Good taste but terrible packing.
This is really good for making pie. Only problem I had is I ordered 2 bottles, they are glass. They were just put in a box and shipped. Both of them were broken and a mess inside the box. Should be packed much better.

Wonderful
This makes a sumptuous mincemeat pie. The filling is rich, full of fruit bits, and sweet. There is enough filling in one jar to make one covered pie in a frozen deep dish pie shell. If you don't make your own pie shells, you can use the second shell in the pair of frozen shells to form the top. Place it on top of the filling and cut around to fit. If you want a lattice-type top, just slice 1/2 inch strips from the second pie shell and lay them on top of the filling. Pinch the top all around and bake.

Tastes like apple pie!
This was delicious! I was not sure on the taste and how the delivery was going to be, having read all the negative reviews. But the jars arrived intact, nothing broken and it was cushier well. I added an apple coz that’s all I had but it was so yummy!! I’m glad I have an extra bottle. I think if I had vanilla ice cream it would’ve taken over the top. :)
