What I like about this product - I never have to worry about my curling accidentally being on for more than 30 minutes. I leave this on the end of the appliance cord, so it is automatic when I plug it in as long as I push the "on" button. What I do not like - you are stuck with the 30-minutes so if you want to use it longer, you must reset the button. I have an older version that allows multiple settings, from zero to (I think) two hours. That is not perfect, either because, you could accidentally allow the curling iron to stay on for two hours! My advice when using this is to never put your curling iron down on an unsafe place. I hook mine onto a metal rack with nothing nearby. That way, you know it will go off, and you know it will be safe until it does. Be careful not to leave this near pets as they may play with the cord, releasing a heated implement towards them.

I had a problem with forgetting to turn my curling iron off in the morning. I didn't like the thought of a red hot item sitting on my sink all day. I got this 30 minute plug which turns off automatically after 30 minutes. Perfect solution for something you don't want to accidentally leave on all day. It's a great gadget. I keep my curling iron plugged into the timer plug permanently with the curling iron switched on. Then to turn my curling iron on, I simply press the button on the plug. You could use this for a ton of other things in your day to day life that you want to shut off automatically after a certain time. There are other versions of this available with longer times (like an hour or two)

Seriously where have you been all my life? I am a very responsible and organized person but one thing I'm terrible at remembering to turn off my hair appliances before I leave the house in the morning. If I had $5 for every time I left my hot rollers on all day long I would be a rich woman. This presents a problem because I'm married to a firefighter and I'm well aware of fire safety precautions, so it would not be a good thing if our house burned down.... my husband's firefighter buddies would never let him live that one down! I have been talking about for months that I need something with a timer that would allow me to turn my hot rollers on and then automatically shut them off. Kind of like a coffee pot. Lo and behold one exists! This is it! It has solved all of our problems and is awesome. I just keep my curlers plugged in to this little outlet timer and just hit the button whenever I want to use them. They stay on for 30 minutes and then shuts off. I love practical solutions to Everyday problems!

This saved my coffee pot and electricity. I was always forgetting to shut off my espresso machine because the light was in a place where it was not very noticible. The outlet shuts it off for me plus the light on it is much more noticible, so I generally shut it off early. I will use the 2nd one for my flat iron, that I often forget to unplug. These are lifesavers!

I bought this 2 pack due to my hobbies, my age, my health. I use appliances that could overheat and possibly be a fire hazard, and this timer can help prevent that. I have one attached to a medical device that I frequently run for several minutes at a time. The second "floats" from one appliance to where it's wanted next. This morning I plugged it in to use my mixer. Not needing the entire 30 minutes, I turned the timer on first to use up some of the time. When ready, I turned the mixer on, and finished before the time was up. As I put the mix into the waiting pan, the timer turned itself off. :) It worked just as intended. It's a wonderful safety device. I plan to use it with hobby equipment as well as other household appliances. Definitely a good buy. I plan to buy another pack.

I recently purchased a flat iron that I love. Unfortunately the flat iron does not have an auto off feature. Now it doesn't need it. Problem solved with this auto off plug. When I got it I tested it and put a timer on. Checked back in 30 minutes and it shut off my flat iron. Works great.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this timer because I have a house member who is starting to have trouble remembering. She began to consistently leave the stove on, and once an iron! As much as she WANTED to remember she just COULDNT. I bought these so that I could have piece of mind while im at work, that no appliances were left on, about to start a fire. I checked both of them to make sure they worked, and sure enough they did. These are a very easy, straightforward, and simple way to make sure anything that can start a fire gets left on. I will check in the future regularly to make sure they are still working.

Many curling and flat irons have no automatic shut, creating a possible hazard if one forgets to turn those off. I purchased several of these for my granddaughter who were headed for college as well a myself. Works just as I had hoped. Thanks!
