UT-SWM Universal Thermostat Smart Wire Module with 2 to 5 Wire Adapter

This is a great option if you don't have enough wires from your thermostat going to your furnace/air handler unit. Install was pretty easy and it only requires two wires running from your thermostat to the furnace unit. It works flawlessly with my Ecobee thermostat and it is now able to control both stages of heat and cooling. There only seem to be a few options on the market that offer the functionality of adding additional wires, and based on my research this was the most reliable option.

Solved my issue. Neat implementation of "data over power". However, this produces so much heat that it increases the temperature of my Nest thermostat by 10 degrees. 70 F degrees in the house and my nest reads 80 F degrees. This increases the cost of the solution because I now need to pair it with a "Nest Temperature Sensor" .

Allowed full 8 HVAC wires on only two wires. Works perfectly. You do need room behind the thermostat for the digital converter but it's only slightly thicker than an 8 wire cable. You also need some wires and space to install the analog to digital converter at the furnace. I used a neodymium magnet to hold the converter on the inside wall of the furnace.

Once configured correctly, it worked like a charm! Most importantly, the reason I am writing this is because of the customer support. The technician on the support line was friendly, patient, and provided very detailed instructions that helped me resolve my connection issue.

Had a two stage furnace and ac installed. However existing wiring in the house prohibited the use of both two-stage furnace and AC. Running new wires wasn’t a possibility due to cost of retrofit. This solved the issue with allowing me 8 wires to control furnace. Using an ecobee 3 lite thermostat. So far working as needed.

Seems to work for many applications. Added a EcoBee to a boiler with 2 wires. Works great!
