last year I went to the St***rbks Hacienda in the mountains of Costa Rica. They served a flight of different coffees with three presses similar to this. After lots of research. I decided this press was the closest I could find to those. The size is correct too. TIP: splash boiling water in the bottom to help the coffee grounds bloom. Then add the rest of the water 30 seconds later.

I like that this has the measurements on the side. Many French Presses don't. I broke it while washing it, so I wish it was stronger, but I've broken every French Press I've ever had so I think that's a problem with any one.

It's more solid and easier to clean than the rattling Bodum model that I put up with for years. I use it when I need a cup of coffee and don't want to mess with my drip device (and NO, I can not abide a Keurig or that Nespresso noisemaker just because everyone has one). It hides away when not in use, and, yes, it makes a great cup with ordinary Folgers.

The wire mesh (not the little screen) might need to be adjusted so it’s a smooth circular edge against the inside of the glass beaker that is the French press, as any fold/imperfections will be a spot for a coffee grind to make it into your drink… kind of a meticulous task but whatever it’s not the end of the world. Works great for making cold brew overnight too.

I got this press as the glass in my previous one had cracked and I also wanted a smaller one cup size. Well its definitely smaller but its really cheaply made. Other than the glass carafe, its just plastic, no weight to it and feels like a toy in your hand. I’m not happy with it at all and will be ordering a different one even if I have to get a bigger size to get a quality press. I’m disappointed with it and I don’t recommend this product.

Upon first sight, I thought it was rather small, but it actually makes a perfect large cup of coffee. Once I got the variables right (amount of coffee, water, and time to steep) I find I'm extremely pleased.
