Very high quality instrument - Top Notch - the one Larry Wheels uses
This dynamometer tester is considered very accurate (it comes with a calibration certificate) and repeatable. I ended up sticking with the functional model which I think is the best all-around and isn't worth the extra $ for the additional data from the other models. The clinic and deluxe models do not store information. It's best just to take a photo of your highest measurement. Chalk makes a huge difference, as this device isn't knurled and has smooth handles. This is both good and bad. Good that it doesn't tear up your hands but bad that it's likely to slip without chalk. It's a great tool to measure your progress and a good rehabilitation tool too.Edit: I sold my original unit to a Gripboard member and bought another. Two months after purchase, just sitting in the case, the live reading would sit at around 19 lb. No matter what, I could not get it to zero out so it produced false results. I had to haggle with Amazon to get this returned, as the original manufacturer would not warranty the item. I'm not sure if this was a one-off thing or if others have this issue, but it is noteworthy that it might have issues down the road. I own four other dynamometers and they all seem to produce higher results than this one too. Perhaps it's the shape of the unit. I won't be purchasing one again.
