Cordova Outdoors Basecamp Class™ Hard Coolers

Purchased a pair of Cordova 48 quart hardside roto-molded coolers to use on boats and camping. The Cordova coolers have some better features versus competitors. First, the handles are aluminum with built in bottle openers versus most competitors that use either rope or fabric strap handles. Next is the feature where the lid stays open when in the upright position, so the lid isn't dropping down when accessing the cooler. The "goat grip feet" will keep the cooler from sliding around on the boat, plus can strap the cooler down in rough water. Hinges appear heavy duty, as does all the hardware and latches. The cooler has a refigerator style gasket that makes the cooler air tight when closed and latched. The cooler lid has two places that can take a lock.This is a veteran owned company with products made in the USA. While the website calls out the lifetime warranty, not all products are covered with the lifetime warranty. The hardside coolers are a 5 year warranty. Based on build quality and how I will use these coolers I don't have any concerns about these coolers lasting for decades. Cordova also has baskets, dividers, etc, that can be purchased if needed.I would not hesitate to recommend the 48 quart Cordova hardside coolers. For less than $245 the 48 quart cooler is a great value.

We recently purchased the 48qt and tested it out for a week long trip. 2 days to destination and 2 days back from Texas to California. We didn't pre-chill the cooler as suggested. Didn't use the recommended ice to contents ratio. Just put whatever we were bringing, added 2 small bags of ice and went. We didn't even open the ice bags. Just threw them in and left. Needless to say it wasn't enough ice, but the cooler still did its job. Everything stayed cold until we got to our destination. The second bag still had a little bit of ice in it. The grips feel very sturdy and comfortable. The built in beer openers are a nice touch. The feet grip very nicely to prevent sliding. The locks keep the lid down tight. The added inner seal helps with keeping the cold in and possible overflow from tilts. The drain plug worked nicely. Everything feels and looks sturdy and well made. I especially like the lid locking mechanism to help keep the lid open when you need it to stay open. If you're the type to keep this out on your truck or jeep, having the 2 lock holes will help you to lock and chain it down. If you need a divider or basket you can buy those separately. We are very happy with our purchase so far. I'm sure this cooler will get years of use from us.

The absolute best cooler made and made in the USA!

Pre-cooled per the instructions and used it for frozen water bottles on a 10 day trip in July. Average temp was in the 90s, and 7 days later we were still having to take water out to thaw prior to drinking.

Does not hold ice as long as what is stated, overall still a great cooler for the price, I am a truck driver, holds ice for about 3 days, sometimes less

I had trouble with my order, and Cordova was very responsive and provided great customer service.Update: What a great product! Very well made, holds ice for at least 4 days in hot (90ish degree) and humid weather, when I didn’t pre-cool and follow optimal loading practice. And it looks great.
