Background: I have a (large) dog, two (large) cats, and a toddlerShout out to the sellers for being super helpful and communicative when I was having trouble. A+ for the sellers.Advice: Don't just buy this and not provide your cat with an alternative scratching post/item- scratching is beneficial for your cat in a lot of ways.Okay, so this product does* work. It just didn't work for me. Also, apply the adhesive to the *opposite* side that the instructions tell you to if you feel like it's not sticking well, I think that helped me a bit.I think I would try this again on a different piece of furniture. Also, I bought the "Way Basics Eco Friendly Cat Scratcher Incline" and placed it next to the couch (it comes with cat nip :)) and that along with the few of the furniture protectors I could get to stick, stopped them from scratching at the couch long enough that I don't really see them do it anymore!It kept my cats from scratching the couch, but came off a bit easily- so the extras you get for the money are good!Do not put it anywhere that you will hit against it because it will come off partially and then it's a bit of a pain to put back. It's pretty obvious that it's on the furniture (I have an orange cloth couch from IKEA), and I had to mess up a few times to get the adhesive to stick well.You can cut it in pieces, just be aware that it'll be a bit harder to pull off the edges.Clean*** your couch well before applying. It will make it stick better and make it less intrusive to look at. It is not invisible although I think it would get pretty close on the right kind of material.Expect it to take you a few tries (so you'll have to sacrifice some protectors) to apply it correctly, but go slowly.If you have little kiddos they will rip it off and then be very sad they can't put it back on and fix it.I hope this helps!

These are an awful mess. They’re super sticky on both sides. So when they’re on your furniture they stick to your furniture and then everything sticks to them. Hair, fabric, lint, everything! They look disgusting in no time. Then to top that off, when the cat goes to scratch, their paws get stuck and my one cat actually yelped pretty good trying to unstick himself. One of his nails ripped when he did and I thought I was going to end up with a vet bill from it.Seriously, don’t buy these unless you’re using them for something other than they’re advertised purpose

After a couple of months I attempted to remove this product from my sofa arm. Even though I removed it very slowly and carefully, it ripped the surface off my one-year-old sofa. The package states "Easy to peel without worrying about residue or furniture damage. I have emailed customer service for weeks and only get a person telling me that she is waiting on customer service to respond. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and filing in small claims court for the damage done to my sofa by this inferior product.

Got this to keep my kitten from scratching/climbing my couch.... I have a very determined cat! Rather than deter him, he has figured out how to pull the edge of the tape and peel it off! Would probably work great for most cats, mine's just a really ornery little rascal!Was easy to apply and seems like it would do well for the average cat.

this stuff is great. Our cat developed a habit of scratching on our doors, totally ignoring all the scratching posts we bought. Put this up and he tried to scratch once, and no more! Great product
