Nice. Easy to use and install with Win 7/8/10
Nice. This usb cable will come with FTDI chip which seems to have a better support rather than the Prolific chip (VCP/D2XX). USB device is fully compatible with Windows 7-x86-x64 (note that WHQL driver here is not the latest). You will have to download and install the latest driver form FTDI VCP driver home page. Drivers for Windows 10 (Windows WHQL 10x86-64 driver) is FTDI latest release when installed by OS automatically. USB VCP driver works pretty well by configuring a COM port. Build Quality of this device is good.

Works with NCE Power Pro
The cable works with my club's NCE Power Pro and it's ancient serial port connection to run WiThrottle. It even has blinking LEDs which are both useful for troubleshooting and sort of entertaining when you roll the throttle wheel on a UWT and see the deluge of serial commands coming from JMRI. I used FTDI drivers and had no issues with the serial cable on a M1 Mac. JMRI was a nightmare to get up and running on this machine, but that's another story.

Fine product but needs to install driver for windows 11
I almost wanted to return it because my windows 11 did not recognize the cable after plugged into the USB port. I had to google and search through answers that a driver has to be installed for windows 11. Not itโs working well.
