Hi lynne, Atsuwell ice pack for shoulder is filled with lower ice point gel (-13℉) which can stay soft and pliable when frozen, even in cold days.

Hello RT. After wore, the width of neck and shoulder ice pack from shoulder to shoulder is about 20", the height from neck to the bottom is about 11.8".

Q: Why isn't there gel in the neck area?

There is gel in the neck area; it's just less than in the body of the pack. I got it for neck and shoulder pain, but did not find it as useful as I thought due to the way the neck section fit around my neck. It is a good quality ice pack, but did not work for me for the application I was looking for.
