W1003 21-Inch Floor Sweep

I used double sided tape, and taped it to my basement floor. Then, I sealed all around the edges with duct tape. I'm sure if you had a permanent location in mind, you could screw it to the floor, and seal around it with silicone. Air leaks are a concern. If installed properly, this product works well, and does what it's supposed to do.

This is turning out to be an invaluable part for keeping the shop clean. Installed two on either end of my shop to make sweeping up saw dust easy. The plastic is about 3/16 thick, would be nice if it were a little stronger to prevent it from cracking when I accidentally stepped on it. Not a big problem, a little epoxy and it is fine.

Guess it works ok, Gave it as a gift to a friend. He hasn't complained and he will complain about almost anything. Just read the specs. It is for a large dust collector, not a small shop vac.

I love this thing. It's obvious what a floor sweep is supposed to do, and this does it well. I have mine installed at the end of my central dust collection line with a dedicated blast gate. I sweep up the shop, making a pile in front of this floor sweep. turn on the DC, open the blast gate, and push the pile into the very wide opening. Simple device that makes a big difference when cleaning up!

The product does the job; no complaints. Mounting tip: Mine is mounted with tape onto a smooth (not polished) concrete floor. To get a great tape seal I first cleaned the floor with a solvent, let it dry, then used shiny aluminum heating duct tape, the kind with a paper backing. That tape has amazing sticking power, and is much better than regular duct tape.

My first impression was that it was too thin and flexible but I've had no issues with durability. Installed with 3M double-sided auto body tape for a strong tight mounting to a smooth concrete floor (suggest cleaning floor with lacquer thinner, MEK or something like "Goof-Off" first for good adhesion). Makes shop clean-up a breeze.

Use this regularly to clean the shop floor after turning wood. Carefully placed between two lathes, hooked up to a 2hp dust collector, and with a wide broom, it picks up all the shavings and dust. Cleanup has never been this easy.

The plastic is very brittle and I don't expext it to last very long. The first one came broken in the box and the second seems fragile

it did what I wanted it to do , it makes sweeping the shop floor much easier although I had to purchase an adapter from 4 inch to 2 1/2 inch to fit my dust collector . its a great item for any wood shop
