Improper use or shipping the product outside the U.S. will void all warranties. At 7.25"H x 9.5"L x 1.5"W, this pack of two (2) wick filters is designed to fit select Vornado humidifiers. The filter must have the correct height, width, thickness, and material for maximum performance. Competitors often advertise their filters will work with Vornado humidifiers but these filters don't always fit properly, therefore, the humidifier will not work effectively. Vornado wicks are developed from the highest quality materials that work to absorb the maximum amount of water while filtering the circulating air. Competitor brands are made of different materials not designed for Vornado humidifiers. These humidifier replacement wicks, part number MD1-0002, work with models Evap3, Evap1, Model 30, and Model 50.

There are no two ways about it
Either you will have white dust to clean up if you buy a cheap humidifier or you can buy this Vornado and change the wick filters now and then and you'll have no white dust. This is my third Vornado humidifier. I also own the EVAP40 with 2 tanks but that one alone couldn't handle the entire 1500 square foot home. So I purchased this one for the master bedroom, which measures 15 x18 feet. It works fine and the fan on low is quiet enough I don't lose any sleep.I've had this a month and no leaking at all. I'm thinking the people who complain about leaking either don't read instruction manuals or didn't test for minute cracking after unboxing. The manual says to do this. Mine was fine, so I had it set up in less than 5 minutes. The water container is easy to fill and carry.I have hard water where I live and the wick filters last me 7-8 weeks. So depending on when I set the humidifiers up for the winter season, I only need to replace them once. Sometimes I can get by with only 1 set of filters by soaking them in vinegar and then replacing them back into the humidifier.BTW, the Vornado customer service is excellent. On my original EVAP40 I bought in 2008, the fan motor started making a strange sound only 3 days before the warranty expired (a 5 year warranty). I contacted Vornado and they immediately sent a replacement no charge. All they wanted in return was the cut off cord of the old unit. The EVAP40 I'm using now is 11 years old. I also have several Vornado air circulator fans that are almost 15 years old and even now, those work as new.

It's very quiet
I previously had a heated humidifier that boiled water to make steam. I loved it, but it broke and the unit went out of production. I have used other types of Vornado products before and was pleased with them. I thought I would give this type of product a try with the Vonado brand. This unit has a lot going for it. It is very quiet and easy to clean. It only needs to be refilled once a day. There is one problem, however. The amount of moisture it puts out is minimum. For this product to be effective you really need two units in a room going at the same time. I have the one unit turned on full blast and set for maximum humidity that runs constantly. I have a hygrometer on the other side of the room to measure the humidity. The humidity in the room has never gone above 37%. The optimal range for humidity in a house is in the 40-60% range. If I had a second unit, then I think both units working together they might be able to reach an optimal range of humidity. This is best suited for a single room of bedroom size.

Very quiet
The humidifier is quiet and I love the different humidity settings. The only drawback is that when I replace the water, sometimes the water tank won't go into place. Once I tried adjusting it and the bottom lid came off and I had water everywhere.

Quiet, doesn't produce enough humidity, filters only last a couple of weeks
I've had this for just under 5 weeks and have already replaced the filter twice. It may be water sediment, but the filters after just a few days start turning crispy and yellow near the top, and as time goes on, that makes its way down. I've changed them both when the yellow crispy & dry part gets midway down the filter, because I find it's not sucking water as often as it would when using a fresh filter. I also have to run mine in constant mode, because it doesn't work in auto mode. I actually got a replacement unit when I first contacted support and explained that the first unit wasn't staying running (it would run for about 10-15 seconds then shut off for a minute and keep doing the same cycle). The replacement did the same thing. When i called support a second time, I was informed by that rep that you are supposed to run the unit on constant high for several days with the door closed until the room was "saturated." (Whatever saturated means). Not possible in our home as we have cats that come in and out of the bedroom, and the humidity, no matter how long I run on high, never gets about about 42% (I did buy a second hygrometer to verify mine just wasn't off).Anyway, on low, constant mode, it's quite enough that I barely notice it and can sleep fine. I have no issues with the blue LED light so maybe they adjusted the brightness of it. It does produce humidity, as I can see the change in the room if we turn it off for more than a few minutes (I don't like to leave it running if we have to go out of the home).Mine does not leak (yet) either. You have to pull the container straight up out of the unit so that you don't twist the bottom off and cause a leak. But so far, so good.I do appreciate that filters are cheap ($6 each) to replace since it appears we have to go through 2 per month.

You'll save tons of money on water usage!!
Because, the included filter certified by vendor never gets wet!! It's been over 48 hours that I haven't filled up the tank because it's still full!!Naturally, there will be ZERO change in humidity level at your home sweet home!! Therefore, you wonder what the heck this made in USA "THING" is designed for!Obviously, I will be returning this crap before I click on "submit" my review!!

Didn't add any humidity to the room!
I have a hygrometer that I use to check the humidity of in my apartment. It can get as low as 11% humidity in my apartment. So after I threw out my old ultrasonic humidifier I decided to pick this one up. In the interim, I would boil water in the kitchen to raise the humidity to a comfortable 40% as my hygrometer would show me. When I got this humidifier, I filled it up and plugged it in, heard the fan going and set it to 60% humidiity. After several hours the humidity level did not rise 1%!OK lets give it 24 hours. After 24 hours, it used up all the water, I checked that the wick filter was damp and the fan was working but still no rise in humidity! I filled up the tank again, let it run for another 24 hours and used up all the water and still no rise in humidity! But soon as I start boiling some water, in less the a few minutes the humidity would start to rise and I can hit 30% humidity within an 1 hour so. This product does not work! If anyone else has a hygrometer and has this product, let me know if it works for you. It didn't look or sound defective as all the fan speeds were adjusting to the the level of humidity I was setting but it just wasn't doing anything. I sent it back for a full refund. Getting another ultrasonic and testing it out.

Southern Alberta air is too dry for this baby!
This was humidifier attempt #3, our first evaporative style. The humidity in our bedroom this winter has been around 16-20%. Talkin' DRY!!! Evap style just is too weak of a system, sadly, as I wanted to love this humidifier as I think Vornado has a great fan design. It was our second Vornado, the first being the steam version, which alas was too noisy, etc. Oh well... I shall press on in my quest!

Great out of the box, but in a month not so nice...
Out of the box it was Great, I saw the reviews about noise, thought there was no problem...about a month later... yea it's noisy... and in someway the design is cheap... the handle for the water basin's will detach... you call for support and they tell you gorilla glue that thing back on...it works ... but I've had to set up a second humidifier in the room because it needs the help...Update. I just stopped using this one. it's a waste of money.BTW personally I now recommend an evaporative humidifiers, or sonic humidifiers. and definitely not this one

Not worth that amount of money!
Ok, so it’s been a number of years since we had to purchase a humidifier, but our old ones are starting to show their age and we need to replace them. While browsing Amazon, we came across this thing, and had high hopes.First of, it’s about half the size of our old ones, but at double the price! Our old ones had a good amount of air flow going through them, with a lot less noise. I think Vornado thinks that they are somehow special considering how much they charge for this thing, but these cannot be made cheaper! Maybe I am just stuck in the ‘old days’ as to how much things should cost. Underwhelming is an understatement, since it hardly used a quarter of the tank over night. On high! The fan is simply too small, it just can’t move enough air over the wick. Because it’s small it’s also a lot noisier than it needs to be.I really wished they still made our old ones (Sunbeam) but they can’t be found anywhere. They were cheap, but at least they worked. This one is going back!
