A huge package for a small price.
Compared to a 177 multimeter.Ac voltage test I did we're spot on to each other (several tests).DC voltage tests on the Tacklife were 30 millivolts lower than the 177 (multiple tests same results).Ac current on the Tacklife was around 80 to 90 milliamps lower than the 177 (177 only capable of AC up to 10amps (multimeter not a clamp meter). The highest DC current I've seen so far on the Tacklife was about 150 amps.Ok, first off I only had one thing to test ac current on at the time so I can't say the results would have been the same but probably would have been the same. The only difference for current metering was that the 177 uses leads and the Tacklife... Well it uses a clamp. I'm not sure if that makes a difference, it shouldn't though, that's the point of metering electricity in all cases. Now, this was an apples to oranges comparison. We're comparing the ultra affordable Tacklife sub $25 clamp/multimeter to a $300 professional use multimeter. There's a major difference between this meter and the bigger brand names. The $300 meter used in this comparison was built to be used everyday by an electrician. This means It needs to be rugged, tough, accurate and include a kick stand (important). The person using that meter is making a living with it. That's the biggest difference. And if your looking at this Tacklife it should be the only difference or else you'd be shopping a different catalog right now.The Tacklife meter is for everyone. Buy this and stick it in a drawer at home. This one meter will complete every task at your home and in your driveway. the Tacklife does AC/DC voltage and AC/DC current! What!?!? Go price the boss meter brands that do all that, break out your credit card though. If you need a meter at home and you don't want to break the bank, this is a good one. It will meter everything!I cant say if it will last but I don't see why not. I have no plans to throw it out a window or down an elevator shaft. The only con I have is the hold does not do auto hold. You have to press the hold button to log the reading. Not a big deal but try juggling two leads and pressing the hold button. I had to use my... Doesn't matter. One last thing, I had to lightly scuff the contacts on the leads of the Tacklife to get them to read correctly. Probably some oily coating on them, idk. They work fine now. And if your wondering if the leads could have made the difference in the readings. I tried the 177 leads in the Tacklife, same story.Happy customer so far. I originally purchased the Tacklife to measure DC current on my vehicles.

Great ampmeter that also has all multimeter functions
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I bought the Tacklife Digital Clamp on Multimeter for amperage readings on my pool pump and air conditioner. I was pleased to find that it also has everything you need for a full multimeter. It can read AC volts, DC volts, Ohms, Capacitance, as well as amperage with the supplied leads or with the clamp on. It also have a non-contact voltage detection feature that beeps and flashes if you place the clamp near an outlet or appliance that still has power applied. I found that you have to get pretty close and almost touch the clamp to the front of the outlet for it to work, but that’s fine as I didn’t even know it would come with that feature. On the voltage setting I noticed that it bounced around the millivolts range without the leads connected to anything, instead of reading zero. There is a zero button that helped get it to settle down. It also came with a nice carrying case that holds the clamp on meter and the leads. If you have never used a clamp on ampmeter, it’s very easy. All you have to do is open the jaws with the trigger button and clamp it around one of the power conductors. If you clamp it around all of the conductors the current will cancel itself out since it is flowing in opposite directions in each of the conductors. I am pleased with the overall quality and performance of this meter. If you found this review helpful, please indicate so below.

Great Amp Clamp
As a retired maintenance electrician, I do appreciate a good meter, as it is your eyes to the usually invisible world of electricity. I bought this meter, mainly, for the digital clamp-on ammeter function, yet, I also get frequency & voltage measurements as a bonus, so I don't need to pack around my DVM, as well. The amp clamp works great & seems to have the accuracy & reliability I require. For the money, I made a great choice. Also, it has great display illumination & a work light at the clamp-on end.

Rugged enough for daily use
I use this every day for RV service for about 2 months. Both 120 V AC and 12 V DC. It has been a solid work tool. The readings seem relatively accurate and it is intuitive to use. the clamp on amp meter is easy to use and is accurate when I have checked it against other meters. The DC voltage range is accurate down into the mv range. I have had the opportunity to check the output of several thermistors and have been pleased with the accuracy.UPDATE: After daily use for a couple of months,I managed to blow out the DC Voltage portion of the meter. I did not feel it was a fault with the meter, rather customer stupidity, so I contacted the company to find out about getting it repaired. After a couple of email exchanges, with a little troubleshooting, the meter was covered under warranty. I just received a new meter. Great customer service.
