Best upgrade for our travel trailer!
This Progressive Dynamics RV Electrical Controller panel is a great upgrade to our travel trailer! We have a 30 foot travel trailer that was a 30 amp unit and while we knew what we were purchasing when we bought it, we realized within several months that we just didn't have the amount of power we needed to enjoy our camper experience. We were constantly tripping circuit breakers as we couldn't use our coffee pot if the hot water unit was on and the air-conditioner. Forget using the microwave oven if the A/C and hot water heater was on too. We knew that we needed to upgrade our camper. After much research on numerous online RV owners web pages, I decided on the PD4590 as it would afford us the most power use in our camper. After upgrading the wiring in the camper to 6 AWG wiring and changing out the 30 amp power supply cord and inlet to a 50 amp power cord and twist lock inlet, we were ready to begin installing the new control panel. The panel was everything that we needed and more. The installation required us to slightly alter the opening in the existing location to fit the new box enlarging it in width and shortening the height, which was easily done using scrap wood we had on hand. The new panel cover completely covered the alteration we made to our existing opening so nothing shows from the outside after its completion.Wiring the unit was easily done after having labeled each existing circuit prior to removing the wires from the old unit we were removing. The new unit has self securing wire openings in the back of the unit which worked great to securely hold the wires without having to install wire clamps in the back. They held so well in fact that it was a little challenging to get the wires pulled to the back of the unit if too much were initially pulled to the front. By using a large flat blade screw driver, we were able to open the clasp holding the wires and pull them back to the needed length.Once all wires were through, it was then on to securing each wire branch to a breaker, the ground and to the neutral and all were done without issue. After all the breakers were connected, the wiring of the D/C branches were easily done. Don't forget to keep a log of which wires went to which breaker or fuse so that you can correctly write on the door panel the correct location in your RV.Securing the unit in to the wall was easy and actually was better secured than the original box that came with the RV! It was time to test the unit. We started by making sure that all breakers were in the off position. We first turned on the batteries and the unit indicated the presence of power to the D/C portion of the panel. So far so good! Then after plugging in the new 50 Amp power supply to the camper we began by throwing the main breakers to the "on" position and again no problem. The built in power converter immediately began blinking the green LED which indicated the batteries were actively being charged. One by one we began to turn on each breaker and had no problem! This unit fully charged our RV batteries within a couple of hours and this was indicated by the green LED blinking more slowly. We have been using this panel for two days now and we have had no power issues at all. We did pop one breaker early this morning because we plugged in a radiant heater on to the same circuit a the coffee pot and tried to use operate two high consumption devices at the same time. Other than that I have been able to use the washer/dryer, microwave, ice-maker and water heater and am no longer popping circuits. This is one of the best camper upgrades that we have done and we are very happy with this panel we choose. I would certainly choose this panel again and we are very happy with what we chose.

Good Fix for New build trailer
Purchased as a power panel for mobile HAM shack for emergency deployments and works great. some wiring of AC could be improved for access, but seems well made.

Easy replacement for a PD4560
Easy replacement with an Existing PD4560 and a nice upgrade to boot. I swapped the main board, converter, and cover, leaving the 120 Volt wiring in place in the PD4560 chassis.
