JUYA Paper Quilling Kit with Blue Tools 960 Strips Board Mould Crimper Coach Comb (Paper Width 3mm with Glue)

Just arrived. Shipping was quick. ordered on Sunday arrived the following Tuesday. This was a purchased for a friend and the following is her review. I used to do quilling years ago and decided to pick the craft back up. This kit is a good basic beginner kit. Lots of paper strips. The slotted/ embossing tool is a bit thin for people with hand and finger grip problems, but looks to be a sturdy tool. The needle tool could have a thinner Needle shaft and a thicker handle but all in all a good sturdy tool. The Quilling comb also looks to be sturdy. (I had one years ago that the tines fell out of on first use) This one seems to be sturdy. After some use I will update this review if needed. The dome mold is made of hard (doesn't seem brittle) plastic, works very well (it beats doming by hand and having the coil fall apart if pushed a little to far). The glue bottle could be a little hard to fill (I happened to have a little funnel for refilling purse size perfume bottles, so I used that and it worked great), so far it works all right. The bottle just seems squishy (for lack of a better term) The circle/shape template seems to be put together nice and sturdy , I like that the back has a nice grid pattern on it. this will come in handy when making my own pattern for pieces. This kit also came with a small packet of pins

Like a little kid, I waited all day for my kit to arrive. When it came and I dug in....oh the joy. Beautiful!!! Exactly what I wanted. It is a very well make kit. Everything was in it. Now I just have to use it!!! I bought the blue.

There is so much in this kit. I just started quilling a few weeks ago and this kit has almost everything I need to do what most patterns require. The scissors are great quality and work great for fringing without making my hand tired. The guide board is a requirement if you want to make perfect sized pieces for your project. I have been experimenting with the comb and found you can do so much with it: from making leaves to making flower petals. The crimper gives you some extra dimension to your paper. I have not used the dome maker but plan on using it to make a poodle for a friend for a gift to match her poodle. The circle guide is so handy when you are making bigger coils, I use it when I am double or tripling my paper. The paper stsrips are great to give you an idea what the colors are in each group. I have since ordered more paper, but there is plenty here for a few projects. And the glue bottle makes the job of gluing your pieces so much easier than using a toothpick. It squeezes out a small amount at a time. I bought this at the regular retail price. This kit was worth every penny.

For a beginner kit, this is a fantastic value. The only caveat i'd include is that the paper strips are not top-of-the-line quality, meaning that the strips are thin and have a grain structure more similar to construction paper than origami paper. The variety of tools is fantastic. The range of colors is outstanding and there are more than enough strips to experiment with many different quilling forms. This kit is perfect for anyone who likes to fully jump in when trying something new. The instructions are minimal, but it does give examples of what all of the tools do and there are two 'gift' cards with instructions and templates for beginner designs. I'm having a lot of fun with this kit.

I'm surprised. All of the templates are thick hard plastic. I thought they would be paper. The quality is extremely good with everything in this kit. It has a hard plastic circles only template - different sizes that is not shown in the picture. So it came with a total of 3 hard plastic templates. The instructions are in Chinese but if you watch 1 min of any youtube video on Quilling you can understand them perfect and just use the pictures to create what they included. They give you a couple of projects to do that are also not shown in the picture. I would buy this again in a heart beat. All of the tools are quality. Totally wasn't expecting this. A+

I’m impressed by the quality of this set. All the items seem to be well-made. I don’t know anything about quilling (yet) but from what I can tell Juya seems like a good brand. The set came packaged well. All the parts were protected with bubble wrap. I used a YouTube video to follow along and create my first quilling design. It took a few attempts to get the hang of handling the coils and not letting them expand too much before putting them into the size guide. This is just going to take practice. I would say that now that I’ve handled the 3mm paper, I think I would have preferred to start with the larger 5mm paper. I imagine that’s probably more beginner-friendly. 3mm is very fiddly. But I’m sure you can make better greetings cards with 3mm since you don’t want it to stand up too much from the card.

I am so happy with this kit! The paper strips are a very nice thickness. The slotted/embossing and needle tools are also wonderful. The scissors are really nice. I wasn’t overly impressed with the tweezers, but I have Sizzix curved tweezers that are fabulous (see my review). Crimping tool is also good though I purchased one with more size options (see review) that I’m enjoying. The glue bottle with needle cap is wonderful for your standard Elmer’s , but probably would be frustrating with something thicker like Alene’s Tacky glue. The boards are very handy too. The kit gives you everything to start except instructions. It’s the same for most of the quilling kits available. I was aware of this and knew I could find an abundance of information on YouTube and other sources on the internet. I also purchased some quilling books to get me started. I hope this review was helpful!

I am so glad I spent just a few extra dollars on this package. It has everything you need to get started AND a huge supply of the most beautiful colored paper. Everything is very meticulously packaged. I am so impressed. WOW! Thank you!!!
