Wilton Simple Success Cookie Press with Discs, 13-Piece

Every year my wife makes Spritz Cookies (like her grandmother before her). And every year, she breaks the cheap cookie press that I bought her AFTER the previous year's bake-off! This year the cheap one from last Christmas didn't even make it through the second batch! Why tell you this? Because THIS "Wilton Success Cookie Press" IS DESIGNED AND BUILT TO LAST! I am "Over the top" with the quality and performance of this press. If you are - like me - tired of the cheap ones breaking...BUY THIS! You will NOT be disappointed. (Well, maybe just a tiny bit. Although there were plenty of die shapes, the one we like Nanny used to use was not there. But I simply used the "Right" one from the previous broken press and all was good. LOL)

Perfect! Cookie presses are something that a baker doesn't use very often, but when you need it, you need it. So, this was a reasonable price and a good value for something that I use, but not often.

I used to have a Wilton Ultra II gun (for 15 years) and I loved it, until I broke it before Christmas! In need of a new cookie gun and I came across this cheaper version at Amazon. I did not expect too much because of its price. I am familiar with the gun design because it is similar to my old Ultra II. I am pleasantly surprised that I am able to make over 20 batches of cookies so far (each batch yields about 75 to 80 cookies. There are few things you may want to pay attention: 1. The dough - this gun can only be used for a soft dough. 2. The purple tear drop shape of the top - turn the pointy end to align to the handle direction. This will ensure the click discharges the right amount of dough. The first few cookies may be a little mess up, because the dough need to be compacted inside the tube. The fourth or fifth cookies will be just fine. 3. Tight screw the top and bottom with no gap. 4. When you feel it's getting harder to press, unscrew the top a little to release the pressure that built up (I broke my old gun because of this). Overall it is not a bad product. I agree it is cheap made, but I don't believe it deserved one-star. I hope my experience can help other users.

This was the worst cookie press I have ever used. I got it because it has high reviews but I fail to see how. The manual twist never connected and it would move out of line after I pressed the lever every time. I also had a hard time with my 60 year old wrist trying to pull the handle to even get one cookie out. I had to pump it twice and use up twice the dough just to get a cookie out. I make a double batch of butter cookies with it and it took me hours. The last bit of dough left I put in fridge and cut in discs so I didn’t have to use this press anymore. Needless to say it’s in the trash since I can’t return it used. What a waste of money. Oxi is a better option. And this is a baking brand too. I expected way more. Shame on them.

Exactly as described. If you use a lot, the handle eventually wears out!

I will update next time I make cookies, but my initial experience with this product was not as great as I had hoped. There is not a spritzer recipe or book that comes with this product so I used my go-to recipe from the 1963 Betty Crocker Cookie Cookbook. This recipe has worked just fine in all other spritzers I have used but perhaps the consistency was still too thick for this Wilton Spritzer to handle. The handle is a little finicky. If you turn it to the side the mechanism does not ratchet (so you can reset position when you reload). There is not much room for error, if the handle is not exactly perpendicular the mechanism will not ratchet. I tried the Christmas tree disc and the snowflake disc. The instructions say you only have to pump the handle once for a cookie to come out, but I had to pump at least four times for the cookie to even touch my pan, then I had to scrape it off of the disc to get it onto the pan (which of course messes up the design). I did try the discs in my XO spritzer (which costs 5 times the amount this one does). I had no issue with the cookie dough coming out, however the dough did not want to shape the way it was supposed to. The tree would not stick together and the snowflake did not want to detach. This was a result of the discs, not the dough because when I used the XO discs in the XO spritzer it worked just fine. Again, I will update next time I make cookies, I suspect it will work better with a looser dough, but I just could not get it to work properly.

Must have for classic holiday cookies. These are always a crowd favorite and never last long! They are the perfect size and taste great! The dough may seem sticky but I promise it needs to be a little soft in order to extrude into the shape. Love to add a little food color and sprinkles for extra flair. Great variety of shapes

I have an old fashion Mirro Press but can no longer turn the knob due to arthritis so I bought a Marcato Press for $65 in 2018 but I don't have the strength for that one as it hurt my hand, then I bought this Wilton cookie press in 2020 and only just tried it out 2/2024 and it was perfect for my arthritis. It took a bit of getting use to as it take a while for the press to click but it is easy on the hands. Don't force it and you don't have to apply a lot of pressure but you do have to wait for the click. Other than that it is user friendly if you have hand problems, arthritis, etc. PS: If the barrel sticks while trying to clean it, make sure you unscrew everything before you run water on it. My barrel stuck and husband ran it under hot water a few times and it finally came apart.😊

This press was working so well until one of the disc’s and the area where the disc sat cracked. I loved using this cookie press so much and made me sad that I couldn’t find another one to purchase. As I was processing a return, Wilton offered to re-send a replacement. Now that’s great customer service! Will definitely buy from them again in future. So I gave them a 5 star review.
