⭐ 1-Star Review – Disappointing Experience with Dell XPS 17 9710
⭐ 1-Star Review – Disappointing Experience with Dell XPS 17 9710I had a terrible experience with this laptop due to serious hardware issues.❌ Audio Problems: The internal microphone and speakers stopped working, making it impossible to use for meetings or calls.❌ Mouse Pad Issues: The touchpad was unreliable, often acting erratically or becoming unresponsive.❌ Troubleshooting Didn’t Help: I tried driver updates, reinstalling Windows, adjusting settings, and even Dell support tools, but nothing fixed these issues. For a high-end laptop, I expected better reliability, but this was just a waste of time and effort. I wouldn’t recommend this model based on my experience.

Razor Sharp laptop case edge!
While it is lightning fast, which is super important, and the keyboard lights up which is a big deal especially at night, there are several big issues I just can't get over. The worst is why the edge of the casing is literally like a RAZOR BLADE! I'm not exaggerating: After just a couple of minutes the case edge Literally cuts into your palm and hand! There are always deep red marks. At this point I may have nerve damage. I can hear you now saying OMG what an exaggeration but go to a Best Buy and play with these laptops for a few minutes. The corners are like daggers! WHY??? Who would design the exact place where you rest your hand like that?!! The other thing is the center placement of the keyboard. Because many laptops have a Number Pad, I'm used to the keyboard being offset to the left. But because this one doesn't have a numberpad, It's super awkward typing on this center keyboard. I don't think I'll ever get used to it. Third is the super sensitive mousepad. Yes I know we can adjust it but the default shouldn't be like this. It accidentally clicks on everything you don't want it to. If they at least added a numberpad and fixed the jagged razor sharp case, I might be able to live with it. But since I'm not into getting injured every time I use it, I'm sending it back.. especially for $2,000 you think they'd bring extra comfort. Ridiculous!

Amazing For Day To Day But Some Issues With Gaming
After having the worst computer in the house for years, oh the joys of being the mom, I finally decided on this one for my upgrade. I had heard about the left speaker issue but I have had this computer for about a month now and haven't noticed this issue myself.First impressions on the laptop were that it was really heavy. My older laptop of approximately the same size was both thicker and lighter than this one. I think this is due to the full metal case and glass screen that basically has no border. From a viewing perspective the larger screen view makes the images super easy to view and gives them a very clean look. However you will need to keep that in mind as you lift the screen when it closes as it can caused finger prints to get all over the screen if you run your fingers under the edge at all. The surface of the keyboard area is very soft to the touch but shows every little drop of dirt or water that touches it. For that reason if you tend to eat or drink around the computer it won't look clean. If that bothers you might want look for a different computer but it didn't bother me.The keys on this laptop are really low to the surface which is nice and the keys don't really make any noise when you use them. The keys are all really responsive and I haven't had any issues with missing keystrokes or dropped letters when typing. The mouse pad is large so if you tend to be a person with larger hands or someone who drops their arms when typing you might find yourself dragging your palms or wrists against it. Again this is not an issue for me personally but some might find it very annoying since the mouse pad is just over 1/3 the width of the laptop. As far as functionality I haven't had anything to complain about. I personally use my laptop for 3 functions. I use it to surf the internet and do basic functions online. I also spend a lot of time in my vinyl cutting machines software and I do play one vintage video game online called Everquest. The computer barely acts like its on when I am using the internet. The software also seems to run well and I have had any issues having multiple project tabs open and watching videos on at the same time, something my old computer could have never hoped to do. The game is the big issue. My old laptop couldn't take the game. It needed a full desk top with dedicated video card. I was pleased to see that the game would run on this laptop with no lag at all and all graphics on which I have rarely done. The fan does start to run at really high speed and fairly loud when I do that but it runs and the heat never gets out of control.Overall this laptop runs really well with no issues for my purposes. I would recommend it for anyone who will be using it for similar purposes.

Missing the small afapter?
Why Dell and Microsoft demand pushing customers into new compexities is beyond me.First, the recievers are one size. The power plug is the same as everything else. For hooking up a mouse, you need an adapter, small, litle cube with a thin wire leading to the male connector into which cube you insert the wireless antenna.Guess what you lose if it comes apart and goes missing? Adapter AND mouse function.More expense replacing adapter and wireless mouse. And who, after 30 years of left hand placement of the windows button found it so necessary to put it center now??? WHY???!!!???
