TV Ears Improved Digital Wireless Headset System – Model 11741

For years, part of my job was a Police Firearms instructor, now retired, and as a result my hearing has greatly diminished, in order to clearly understand movies on my TV I had to adjust Netflix so I could read the dialog. A few years ago I purchased another brand of over the ear headphones, but they could not connect directly to the TV, I had to connect through my cable box, so I still could not enjoy Netflix and they were over the ear headphones which after a while got hot and uncomfortable. A few days ago I came across these Digital/Analog TV ears and decided to give them a try. Wow! First, the installation was extremely easy, took less than 5 minutes and it was working perfectly. I connected one end of the Digital cable to the Digital audio port of the box and the other end to the Digital port of the TV. Then I connected the power cord to the box and that's it. I was able to hear the TV and Netflix immediately. The headset is very light and the earbuds and width of the bands connecting the set to the ears are very adjustable. Once adjusted you can barely tell that you're wearing it. I've read other reviews that say the TV ears quit after a short time. I hope not, I really like these, but just in case, for $1.54 I also purchased the extended 2 year protection plan and will update my review if they fail. But, for now it's definitely 5 stars. Looking forward to hearing TV the way it's supposed to be. Very Happy. I recommend it.

This was the second time I bought these tv ears for my mom and they are a piece of crap but she couldn’t hear the tv without them. I would never recommend them.

This is really a great product, but be advised this is not a plug 'n play setup unless you have an optical Audio Out connection on your TV. I don't (Samsung 55"), and I exchanged several emails with Tech Support and also needed to purchase an audio interface to connect to my TV - details in parenthesis: (AMANKA 192KHz HDMI ARC Audio Extractor with Digital Optical TOSLINK SPDIF Coaxial, HDMI ARC to RCA Audio Converter Analog 3.5mm L/R Stereo, Audio Splitter for HDTV Soundbar Amplifier) It was required to use the HDMI-ARC audio output on my TV (the only audio output available), into the Audio Extractor, then an optical cable connection to the TV Ears set. Even then, it only worked sporadically until I found a hint online to edit my TV sound settings to Digital PCM (it was set to "Auto", but clearly was not working correctly). I believe all is now good, but this learning process took some time.

Ok, so I have to recommend a product because I know I’m not the only one who sometimes can’t understand what people are saying on the TV. I have had partial hearing loss in both ears for years due to nerve damage. One was from firing a gun when I was in high school without ear protection and immediately my ear popped and has been RINGING ever since at a frequency that would make the neighborhood dogs howl if they could hear it. And the other is probably because I like to listen to my music LOUD in my car while jamming to my tunes with the windows down and the wind blowing through my short hair. It’s like a Peppermint Patty commercial and Freebird experience combined for me. Anyway, I have problems hearing certain tones and voices so when it comes to hearing the TV I get lost in the plot before it ever really gets started good. I have hearing aids but they only elevate ALL of the sound around me so that doesn’t work. Yes I know hearing aids have improved and they can block out that sound but my insurance no longer covers hearing aids. When watching TV I get lost in the plot before it ever gets started good because I miss what half of the people are saying. I ask John, “What did they just say?” and he pauses the TV and explains to me what’s happening. I am quite sure that’s annoying for him. BUT....my life just changed when I got TV Ears!! They are wireless ear buds that fit in your ears and they are for listening to the TV. You can have the TV set at any volume for everyone else or none and adjust the volume for your TV Ears. The clarity is magnificent!! My only problem that I have with these is that I now enjoy catching up on seasons of The Blacklist that I will sit in my recliner for hours! We bought my 87 year old father in law a pair and gave it to him while visiting him for the weekend. My husband woke up at 3am and found him sitting in the recliner with his TV EARS on enjoying a program on TV. Perfect birthday gift for him! (This is not a paid endorsement for TV EARS)

I use the TV Ears Digital system voice-enhancing technology works great. The TV Ears Digital system provides "crystal clear" sound, better than my hearing aids for watching television. TV Ears Digital Wireless Headset System was compatible with my TV model, and was very easy to setup. The TV Ears Digital Wireless Headset System are a reliable and user-friendly and might save your marriage. No more having the wife come in the house and say "I could hear the TV from the street" I would recommend this product to any and all with hearing problems.

It took me over two hours to get it working but that was mostly the fault of my stupid TV and remote. However, I was really happy when it stopped sounding like a playing card attached to bicycle spokes. Then, I wasn't so much. I previously had the analog one and it was perfect but, of course, didn't work with "smart" TV. This one is very hard to adjust; the volume wheel makes it either really loud or not loud enough. The tone does nothing that I can discern except people's voices sound different than they do using regular TV sound, in all positions. I got it partly to keep my cats from going deaf and for me to hear better. I don't really hear any better than I did before but it's nice not to have the TV blaring. My hearing must not be that bad, though, because I barely have to move the volume for it to be too loud. I know I have the kind of hearing loss where it's difficult to understand people but other noise is clear so maybe it will be perfect for people with different issues. I will definitely still use it but expected more. Update: Pretty sure this unit is defective. Sometimes louder in one ear and sometimes the other. Sound is clear for a brief time then hard to understand. Just about impossible to adjust volume in small increments. Getting really frustrated with having to return everything purchased online these days. It's functional but barely and very, very annoying and not as advertised.

I bought these for my Mumsie, who could never hear the TV unless it was loud enough for the whole block to hear it. She'd get depressed because she couldn't enjoy anything we were watching. We've had this pair for over a year and a half and they are fantastic! Best thing I ever could have bought for her. They are incredibly clear and volume control works wonderfully. I can control the TV volume, down to almost mute while she controls her own volume on the headset. (When I change tv volume, hers does not change). They are comfortable and do not bother her at all, whilst wearing (and she will wear them almost all day long). The battery charge lasts almost all day. I have the digital version and actually have it hooked up analog since their TV is older. I highly recommended this product. It seriously is life changing for your loved ones, who cannot hear well. Also is great for those of us that can hear well, but don't want anyone to hear the TV or disturb someone who is reading. I'm actually buying a second pair for her, since she sits up all night and eventually kills the battery. (Woman never sleeps). This is honestly a great product and I would buy it over and over again.

Im Prinzip sind die Kopfhörer eine sehr schöne Sache. Mein Mann ist schwerhörig und kann damit beim Fernsehen die laute Musik, die er immer als störend empfand, dämpfen. Er kann sich seine Lautstärke unabhängig davon, wie die Zimmerlautstärke ist, einstellen. Der Ton schaltet also nicht ab, sobald er die Kopfhörer einsteckt, sondern andere Personen können ihren Ansprüchen entsprechend trotzdem weiter hören. Das ist das gute. Nicht so gut finde ich die die Ohrstöpsel. Sie sitzen sehr lose und fallen auch immer wieder mal ab und runter, so dass sie gesucht werden müssen. Leider finde ich auch nirgends einen Hinweis auf Ersatzstöpsel. Wäre hilfreich, wenn diese auch hier mit angeboten würden und evtl. gleich der Lieferung beigefügt, da sie nicht sehr haltbar sind.

Sirve muy bien cuando no te mueves pero cualquier cosa que pongas entre el audifono y el receptor anula completamente la recepcion del sonido y se escucha mucho ruido de interferencia. Es ideal para las personas que no se mueven mucho. Puedes vivir con ello si te haces a la idea de su funcionamiento

Transformed my viewing from using hearing aids and/or sub-titles to complete clarity. Only snag is that I tend to have the sound a bit too low for my wife to hear - any louder and It impinges a bit on the sound via the TV Ears
