Excellent product
I have been researching this product for a while now. I even researched it on the Creative Labs website but found the price more reasonable through Amazon.com. I have a Creative mp3 player and found that newer downloaded music has a locked copyguard on it. By using the remote with the input allows me to listen to all my music. I love the remote with input, headphone jack and bass control. I was even offered a $20 rebate through Amazon. My friend has an older version of Creative speakers and these blow them away. I think they even sound better than Bose speakers I have researched. I recommend these speakers to everyone, even at full price. I think they may even sound better than my home stereo. I also received them in 2 days where other retailers approximated delivery in 5 to 10 business days. It is the best investment you can make if you're into great sound while listening to music or gaming. The subwoofer fits well under your desk while the titanium speakers fit almost anywhere.

THE WORST SET OF SPEAKERS I'VE EVER HEARD.
I can't get anything resembling the real sound of any music I know. I've played with my equalizer for over an hour and nothing sounds correct on these speakers. These are probably the worst sounding speakers I've ever purchased. My DELL speakers are better. They have less volume but at least they're warmer and they reproduce the sound correctly.Someone else said it, too tinny, no mids and no bass. These are far too bright sounding. Put the sub woofer under the desk and forget about any lows coming your way. I don't know what the rest of the reviewers are listening to. Maybe they're corporate shills. Thanks, to the one honest reviewer who recommended Altec-Lansing.WOW!! Terrible!! These are going back to Circuit City tomorrow. (I have since bought the Logitech Z 2300s which are rated as the best 2 speaker set-up you can buy for your computer. Wow, like night and day compared to these pieces of junk. I paid $150.00 for them and they're worth every penny. They're $112.00 on Amazon. You won't believe the sound that comes out of the tiny 3.5 jack on the back of your computer. Buy the Logitechs instead.)DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! IF YOU BUY THESE, YOU'LL BE SORRY!!

Ok for games, bad for music
Tested with some games and music:In general:* Tremble and high/middle midrange are coming out of the speakers and are good enough for the price range these speakers are in.* Lower midrange and low frequency sound is crossed over to the sub. The sub cannot reproduce lower midrange properly, the lower frequencies are very muddy, boomy and unclear.Uses:Games and general - just Ok. The voice will not sound as full as on good speakers because of poor reproduction of midrange. The sound will be a little bright. All-in-all, they should be sufficient.Music - this system is definitely not suitable for reproducing music. The crossover is set very high. The lower midrange is directed to the sub, but the sub cannot properly reproduce midrange frequencies. The low frequencies are inaccurately reproduced by the sub. As an example, there is no difference between low frequencies of drum instruments and low frequency of string instruments. All low frequency sounds are just boom-boom-boom - not so with better speakers. In addition, sub overpowers speakers and if you dial down the sub then you will have no lower-midrange, just tremble and upper part of midrange. If you will be playing music through your computer - definitely get different speakers. Logitech would be better musical speakers for the same price range. Klipsch or M-Audio would be in a higher price range but incomparably better in sound quality.

Creative FTW!
This system is quite good. I bought it for a friend, and e likes it very much. The bass is unbelieveable from such a small subwoofer, and it's quite loud if you turn it up. HOWEVER, it lacks midrange and makes some songs sound shallow and far too focused on extreme highs and lows. You will have to adjust the EQ of the device you plug in to add more midrange in order to make the sound fidelity acceptable. Honestly, for $99, I would expect more.

Great clarity, good power ...
I purchased these speakers two weeks ago with the intention of putting them in my bedroom and hooking up my Zen Vision so I can listen to music in my room. The thing is - with my 5 year old son in hospital - I had purchased the speakers on my way to visit him and decided to open them in his room as a form of distraction.Well - little did I know that the speakers were going to be so great - I ended up leaving them in his room and not having using the speakers for it's ended purpose, i.e. being in my bedroom! About a week later, I placed an order for my Zen Vision and decided to purchase a second set!Why you ask? What amazed me about these speakers was the clarity and power I get from these speakers. In both cases - my room and my son's hospital room - I have never turned the volume control up past half way and it has very good volume. Originally I was thinking of getting the Bose set for $249 but after reading mixed reviews - I'm glad I went with the 3400 speaker system - saving me over $100.I use these speakers for a variety of uses in my room:1. I've hooked them up to my 20" TV - so now I get much better sound AND bass while I'm watching TV. It's so great to get some bass without having to buy a big entertainment system :)2. I've hooked them up to my PDA and my Zen Vision - and the music sounds great!3. I've hooked them up to my x-box in my son's room to listen to DVDs.My advice - looking for a great pair of speakers (with a sub-woofer) for a small to mid-size room (up to 20 x 20) then get the 3400 speaker system!
