Not all cables are created equally, but you don't need expensive cables to get the job done.
I never subscribed to the theory that super expensive cables change the sound much, if at all and still don't. I've never had any issue simply using Monoprice or Amazon Basics cables for most of my needs, whether it was audio or HDMI.Today, I found out that up to a point, you really to get what you pay for. Over the years I've had various RCA cables and never really had much of a problem with any of them. For a while now though a particular headphone amp has been giving me problems with a hum at certain volumes. Touching the amp would make this hum go away so I always assumed it was a grounding issue with the amp itself.Ended up buying a different, pretty expensive headphone amp recently and it too exhibited this very same hum. This was not acceptable. It didn't matter what cables I used out of the countless cables of varying lengths and thicknesses I owned.I decided to buy these cables on a recommendation, because at this point I had nothing to lose...The hum is now gone. So be careful when buying Monoprice/Amazon Basic audio cables, because despite what some reviews might claim, they really are not the same at all.

An upgrade over those RCA cables that come free with components!
OK, though I'm not a physicist and no expert on electrical signals, I am a scientist (neurobiologist). This is not to say that I can't be as gullible as the next guy, but I do try to approach purchases of stuff like this rationally. Will any RCA interconnecting cable transfer the electrical audio signals between your components? Yes, unless they are broken. But could those signals be prone to noise or interference if the cables are not properly made, grounded, and insulated, or if the connectors themselves are not tight fitting and highly conductive? Also yes. I know some audiophiles pay hundreds (even thousands) of dollars for interconnects, and I am hugely skeptical that anything past the item I'm reviewing matters. I think it's largely cognitive dissonance (I paid so much, so there's no way they don't work better) or a kind of confirmation bias. But hey, whatever makes them happy. For the rest of us, these $27 cables will do the job and--yes--I am quite sure I heard a difference when I used them in place of the cheapo free RCA cables I've always used since I was a kid. I listened carefully for a minute to an album in headphones (AKG 702), changed the cable, and then listened again. The soundstage seemed wider, the low end firmer, the top end clearer. It was as if a thin veil had been pulled off the signal. Am I deluding myself? Who knows. I can't do a controlled experiment here (such as obtain a duplicate set of equipment, use different interconnects, and switch back and forth in real time with a switch box. . . and then swap the interconnects to ensure there are no differences between the components). But I have enjoyed my modest stereo (Denon PMA-600NE amp, Denon DCD-600NE CD player, U-Turn Audio Orbit Plus turntable with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, Elac Debut speakers and AKG 702 headphones) for a while with the standard free cables. I listen a lot. I bought one set of these, changed them on the turntable and was sure I heard an improvement. I ordered a 2nd pair for the CD player and notice the exact same thing. So, YMMV, but to me, for a grand total of about $55, I have made an upgrade that is much cheaper than a new stylus, new speakers, new components etc. Even if I'm deluding myself, these are much sturdier and better made (and nice looking) than my cheapo free cables. So there you go. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. 😜

Spend on these, but not more, unless your system cost more than a Honda Civic
You can spend a lot more on RCA cables than this, and you can spend a lot less. I, personally, use these in a computer hifi setup to go between my DAC, Equalizer, and Amp, and they sound great. That is amazing, because I have more tech on my desk to produce interference than most NASA space shuttles, and there is nothing audible through these cables. Somehow the shielding is fantastic, despite not being as thick as some of the more expensive cables I use in my other systems.I have had more expensive cables, in the same setup, and, frankly, have not seen a difference between these and cables costing three times as much. These are reputable, they ship fast, and they have stood up to my kids and dog. I am pretty impressed, and I do not get impressed easily with audio equipment.Yes, it matters what cables you use in your setup, but if you need something better than these, you have a really expensive system, I mean really expensive. Even in a recording studio these would hold up, so keep your money if you were going to spend more, and spend your money, if you were going to spend less, these sound great for the money.

Sounds different than BJC
Its true what the other reviews say. Worlds best cable variants do sound different than BJC. Which ever one sounds better comes down to the type speakers you have. For example, it seemed like the worlds best cable added a sound signature to my horn driven tweeter Klipsh RP-8000F towers when I compared the two brands of jumpers, BJC and worlds best. Didn’t much care for the added signature on the Klipsch, but it could sound better on other types of towers that don’t use horn driven tweeters. Using these worlds best cables to connect my dual ES9038Q2M DAC to my Denon AVR-X4500H and am quite satisfied in the improvement music sounds with the upgrade. I can’t imagine RCA Cables sounding any better than these. Plus these are likely cheaper than BJC!

Best cables reasonably priced
These use top tier cable and ends without the rediculous price

Low capacitance is great for phono cable use
I love these cables. I needed good low capacitance cables for use on a turntable. These measured only 65pf per meter! Perfect for what I needed. The other traditional cables I had were over 300pf and sounded terrible with my phone preamp. Capacitance is critical with moving magnet cartridges and these fit the bill without costing an arm and a leg. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again.
