A new favourite
Well, this book has been a real delight and we’ve all really enjoyed it in our household. It’s been read numerous times at bedtime and enjoyed by both my 8 and 5 year old.Parry is such a lovely character and his friendship with Eliza is so endearing and wonderful to read about. We loved the story, we loved the illustrations and the way they worked with the words on each page. And we loved the rhyme!A lovely book to add to our bedtime collection.

Perfect for dino lovers
That Dinosaur has Talent is a delightful, vibrant picture book for children that is fun and has a great message inside it too.The book is about Parry who can't find anything he's particularly good at - everything he tries goes wrong. Then he meets a little girl who becomes his friend and she discovers something Parry is very good at and arranges for his chance to shine. This book is such a great read! I love how it covers friendship, encourages children to not give up on things, teaches children thar not everyone is the same or is good at the same things and that kindness and friendship are a special thing to have and give to others.I especially loved the glossary at the back which teaches how to say the dinosaurs featured in the books - names. This is such a great idea as I struggled to pronounce most of these dinosaurs names.

A vibrant picture book with a fantastic message. We loved it!
I had to read this book after seeing the front cover. Isn't it stunning? This is a brilliant story all about overcoming fears, discovering talents and the wonderful power of friendship. This story follows Parry the dinosaur who starts off as a very unhappy dinosaur. All the other dinos have jobs to do except him. Parry believes he doesn't have a talent. Everything he has tried has gone wrong.Luckily he makes a great friend called Eliza Jane who looks after him and teaches him that he just hasn't discovered what his own special talent is yet. He needs to find the thing he loves!'Don't worry, Parry, there's a job for you. We've all got talent when we LOVE what we do'With lots of encouragement from his friend Parry discovers he does have a special talent- singing and once he overcomes his shyness and takes a risk he becomes the star of the show! This is such a great rhyming story with so many great messages for young children. The illustrations are so vibrant and there are so many great details. My children just loved the dinosaur town and it really sparked their imagination! We spent such a long time looking carefully at each picture. This would be a fantastic book to use in an early years/infant classroom to encourage children to try new things to discover their own special talents and interests. It could also be used to help children identify what makes a good friend. It's a big hit as a bedtime story too and one we have read a lot in the last few weeks!

Fun and meaningful!
Eliza Jane’s second outing (after the superb Dinosaur Department Store) sees her make a new friend in Parry, who is struggling to find something he is good at, until Eliza Jane spots his talent and helps him feel confident enough to display it.Another family favourite, my boys (5 and 7) have read it every night for the past 2 weeks! The author actually achieved the impossible and introduced my eldest to a dinosaur he had NEVER heard of. I won’t give it away but it begins with J and he has been obsessed with it ever since! It’s a beautiful uplifting story, the text is so fun and it rhymes! It really engaged my boys. The pictures are just stunning, they have made it all come alive. The drawings are so detailed but not completely in your face, sometimes these picture books have a tendency to be a tad garish! It is a stand-alone but my boys recognised some of the detail and characters from the Dinosaur Department Store which further cemented their love for it, we had lots of discussion. It’s so nice to see a female lead character in a book about dinos. This book absolutely nailed it and we all love it.

A bright and inspiring children's book
That Dinosaur Has Talent! is a bright and inspiring children's book that will have readers laughing, dancing, and boosting their confidence. We already have one of Murray and Merrit's books on our shelf (The Dinosaur Department Store), so we were very much looking forward to reading and looking at another book from this brilliant team. And with even more dinosaurs to spot and name, this was such an entertaining book to share together. With a great flow to the rhyming story, this is a story that you'll be happy to read over and over again. I especially love the messages of finding your confidence and being brave enough to share your passion/talents with others which is incredibly comforting for young readers. My four-year-old loved the fact that Parry liked to sing and dance and that Eliza Jane encouraged him to be brave enough to show off his talents to others. The illustrations burst with colours and every page feels exciting. I also really appreciate the help with pronouncing the dinosaur names at the end of the book, opening up a more educational discussion with young readers as well.If your little one is a fan of dinosaurs, then this book is a must. Even if they're not, this is definitely a book that will open up their interest in the colourful dinosaur world.
